The Delhi High Court on Monday, June 4, 2018, refused to stay the results of the 2018 National Eligibility cum Entrance Test on a plea alleging that the question papers were leaked. NEET is conducted by the CBSE for admission to the MBBS and the BDS courses in colleges run with the approval of the Medical Council of India and the Dental Council of India.
Union home ministry-sponsored online analytical tool was launched today on 31st June 2018, to facilitate closer monitoring of the flow and utilisation of foreign contributions received by NGOs and other organisations registered under the FCRA. The online analytical tool gives Government departments the capacity to take data-driven and evidence-based decisions regarding the compliance of the provisions of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010, it said.
Common Law Admission Test 2018 (CLAT), the Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled out cancellation of the online exam due to technical glitches faced by some candidates and asked National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) to declare the result on May 31.
The Madras High Court today on June 2, 2018, restrained the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) Limited from finalising tenders for setting up Food Plazas at the Central Railway station. Justice S Baskaran gave the interim directive on a petition by Petitioner K M Mustafa, a railway catering contractor, submitted that the IRCTC had informed him that he was disqualified to bid on the ground that he did not fulfil the eligibility criteria though he had quoted higher amount than others. The Judge said the IRTC can proceed with the tender process but restrained it from passing final orders by accepting any of the tenders till June 12 and posted the matter to that day.
A vacation bench of Justices A M Khanwilkar and Navin Sinha on May 24, 2018, restrained all high courts from entertaining any fresh plea and hearing the pending cases in connection with CLAT 2018 and directs NUALS to examine complaints filed by law aspirants.
Idea Cellular to be renamed as Vodafone Idea Limited after merger of Idea Cellular and Vodafone India. The required approvals for the much-awaited merger have reached the last leg and the Department of Telecommunications is likely to give a go-ahead in the next few weeks. Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla is spearheading the merger process, and recently met Union Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha.
