Krishna-mantra

“klim krishnâya govindâya gopijana-vallabhâya swâhâ”

Govinda is Atman – ultimate matter of existence .

In Mahâbhârat-

“krishir-bhuvâchako shabdah nashcha nivtriti-vâchakah,
tayoraikyam parambrahma krishna ityâbhidheeyate.”

The root word ‘krishi’ means ‘bhu’ or ‘sattâ’ (existence).

Sri Krishna expresses four sweetness in the Holy abode of Vrindâban –

  • Prem-mâdhuri
  • Roop- mâdhuri
  • Leelâ- mâdhuri
  • Sabda- mâdhuri

“ishwarah paramakrishnah schchidânandavigrahah,
anâdirâdi-govindah sarva-kârana-kâranam”.

Meaning – “Sri Krishna, the Supreme Controller is eternal, conscious and blissful. He is the cause of all causes. He is the beginning and the One without a beginning. He is none other than Govinda.” – (Brahma-samhitâ)

Gopâl-Tâpani-Shruti says – “go-bhumiveda-vidito viditâ govindah”.

Rigved (1-164) says –

“apashyam gopâmanipadyamânamâ cha parâ cha pathibhishcharantam,
sa sadhrichih ga vishuchirvasâna âbarivartibhuvaneyantah.”

Meaning – “I saw a Gopâl (cowherd boy) Who is indestructible; He was sometimes near and at other times far, and He was wandering on various paths. AT times He was covered with many clothes, and sometimes He donned different clothes. In this manner He is repeatedly coming and going on this earth.”
