  •  PM Narendra Modi while addressing a plenary session of the 5th Eastern Economic Forum said India will give a line of credit worth USD 1 billion for the development of Far East. 
  • The Supreme Court refused P Chidambaram’s pre-arrest Bail application today in INX Media money laundering case lodged by Enforcement Directorate.
  •  Russia will help to train Indian astronauts for manned space mission – The Gaganyaan project, which will carry three astronauts in its first flight scheduled for 2022.
  • Defence Ministry said that the price of 83 Light Combat Aircraft (LCA)-Mk1A which is going to be manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited[HAL] has been finalised and the contract would be signed within months.

INTERNATIONAL

  •  Retailers of Supermarkets in UK are concerned that there will be sharp price rises and food shortages if there is no-deal Brexit.
  • Google is fined $ 170 million as it violated children’s privacy on YouTube.
  • Garlic has become china’s first cloned kitten which is created by Chinese firm Sinogene, a Beijing-based company. The price of a copied cat comes in at $ 35,000.

  • Prime Minister Modi met the Malaysian Prime Minister on the sidelines of the fifth meeting of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) held in Vladivostok in the Russian Far East Region, raised the issue of Zakir Naik’s extradition.
  • Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam announced the formal withdrawal of an extradition bill that would have allowed extraditions of criminal suspects for further prosecution in China.

TODAY’S ECONOMY

  •  According to government data, FDI in India grew by 28 per cent and inflow of FDI stood at $16.33 billion during the first quarter of the current fiscal. Singapore emerged as the largest source with $5.33 billion investments.
  • Two years after acquiring 80 per cent stake in Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation’s KG Basin gas block, ONGC will now get complete legal ownership of the block. The deal was completed in August 2017 in which ONGC paid about Rs. 7,738 crore.
  •  According to Crisil, private consumption demand, which has been the bulwark of growth for the last few decades, grew by only 3.1 per cent in the first quarter of this year .So it cut down its GDP forecast (Financial Year 20) to 6.3 per cent from 6.9 per cent earlier.
  •  The US Department of Justice has filed a lawsuit against Novelis, a major aluminium company which is fully owned by India’s Aditya Birla Group, to stop them from acquiring Aleris based in Cleveland, Ohio; as the acquisition could create a monopoly in aluminium industry.
  • Telecom operator Reliance Jio launches optic fibre-based Jio Fibre Broadband Service today where customers will get free voice calls for life from landline, 100 mbps to 1 gigabit per second broadband speed for subscription starting from Rs 700 per month.
  • The Board of Punjab National Bank has given approval for the amalgamation of Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India with PNB today.

  • মেয়াদ ফুরোনোর পর প্রাক্তন মুখ্যমন্ত্রীরা সরকারি আবাস দখল করে রাখতে পারবেন না। মেয়াদ ফুরানোর সাথেই তাদের সরকারি ভবন থেকে সরে যেতে হবে বলে জানালো রাজস্থান হাই কোর্ট. বুধ বার এক মামলার রায়ে এই আদালত মিনিস্টার্স স্যালারিজ এক্ট, ১৯৫৬ আইনের সংশোধনী কে অসাংবিধানিক বললো এই আদালত।

  • पी चिदंबरम (P Chidambaram) को सीबीआई की राउज एवेन्यू कोर्ट ने आईएनएक्स मीडिया मामले में 19 सितंबर तक के लिए तिहाड़ जेल भेज दिया है. उन्होंने जमानत अर्जी दी थी, जो नामंज़ूर हो गई है. पी. चिदंबरम की जेल में अलग सेल, खाट और अलग बाथरूम की मांगें मंज़ूर कर ली गई हैं. आपको बता दें की पी. चिदंबरम को तिहाड़ के जेल नंबर 7 में रखा जाएगा।
  • पी चिदंबरम को ईडी मामले में अग्रिम जमानत नहीं, सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा- ये कोई साधारण मामला नहीं।
  • ब्रिटेन ने जुलाई 2019 में अपना नया प्रधानमंत्री बोरिस जॉनसन (Boris Johnson) को चुना, लेकिन सिर्फ 1 महीने बाद ही खुद बोरिस जॉनसन ने फिर से चुनाव कराने का प्रस्ताव संसद में रख दिया. जुलाई से पहले 24 मई, 2019 को तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री टेरेसा मे (Theresa may) ने भी बार-बार ब्रेक्जिट (Brexit) में नाकाम होने के बाद अपने पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया था ।
  • अमेरिकी विदेश मंत्री माइक पोम्पिओ ने अपने विशेष दूत द्वारा तालिबान के साथ किए गए शांति समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर करने से इंकार कर दिया है. क्योंकि उसमें अल-कायदा के खिलाफ लड़ाई के लिए अफगानिस्तान में अमेरिकी सेना की मौजूदगी या फिर काबुल में अमेरिकी समर्थित सरकार के संबंध में कुछ भी स्पष्ट नहीं है ।
  • पाकिस्तान का सबसे बड़ा और सर्वाधिक आबादी वाला शहर कराची दुनिया के दस सबसे कम रहने लायक शहरों में शामिल है. पाकिस्तानी मीडिया में प्रकाशित रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, इकोनॉमिस्ट समूह की शोध एवं विश्लेषण शाखा इकोनॉमिस्ट इंटेलिजेंस यूनिट (ईआईयू) ने ग्लोबल लिवेबिलिटी इंडेक्स 2019 जारी किया जिससे यह जानकारी मिली ।

  • According to Ethnologue, a directory of languages which lists 7,111 living languages worldwide, Pacific island nation of Papua New Guinea, Country in Oceania tops the list with 840 living languages, while India ranks forth position with 453.
  • MC Mary Kom, a six-time world champion in boxing, and Lovlina Borgohain, World and Asian bronze-medallist, are selected for the upcoming Women’s World Boxing Championships 2019 which are scheduled to be held from October 3- 13, 2019 in Bolshoy Sochi, Russia.
  • In August Mukhyamantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojana was launched by Shri Venkaiah Naidu, under the Jharkhand state scheme. According to this yojana, farmers/ beneficiaries having farmlands of less than 1 acre to 5 acres will be provided financial assistance of Rs5,000-25,000. The launching ceremony was held in 23 districts apart from Ranchi.
  • Business-Business (B2B) payments startup company EnKash has launched the country’s first corporate credit card called ‘Freedom Card’ for small and medium enterprises and startups. It was developed by Mr Naveen Bindal, Co-Founder of EnKash.
