A woman aged 73 has reportedly given birth to twin girls in state of Andhra Pradesh. Ms Mangayamma the mother of two baby had no major health issues during the pregnancy or delivery.

- A Delhi court today adjourned Aircel-Maxis case, involving former Union Minister P Chidambaram and his son Karti, sine die, noting that the CBI and the ED were seeking repeated adjournments. It also said that the prosecution may approach the court as and when the probe is complete.
- The Union Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Shri Ram Vilas Paswan yesterday announced the ban of single use plastic bottles in various departments and Public Sector Units which also includes the Food Corporation of India. The ban will be effective from September 15 onwards.
- The Naval Quality Assurance Establishments with the support of DGQA, Ministry of Defence, hosted the 2019 Joint Naval Annual Quality Conclave at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh yesterday. The theme for 2019 is “Transformation of QA Paradigm: Opportunities and Challenges”. Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Naval Command, was the chief guest for the event.
- 3rd India-Australia Cyber Policy Dialogue for the year 2019 was held in New Delhi on 4th September. Shri Upender Singh Rawat, Joint Secretary for e-Governance, Information Technology and Cyber Diplomacy at the Ministry of External Affairs led the Indian delegation and Australian delegation was led by the Ambassador for Cyber Affairs Dr. Tobias Feakin.
- The Enforcement Directorate has issued a show-cause notice to Amnesty International, a human rights watchdog, for alleged violation of the foreign exchange law to the tune of over Rs 51 crore
- Noted novelist and playwright Kiran Nagarkar, known for his books Cuckold, and Bedtime Stories, died in Mumbai at the age of 77.
- The West Bengal Legislative Assembly on passed a resolution opposing the National Register of Citizens ( NRC) in Assam. The resolution tabled under Rule 185 of the Rules of Procedures of Conduct of Business of the House.

- Odisha’s woman athlete Anupama Swain clinched a bronze medal (52kg) in World Martial Arts Mastership Jiu-Jitsu 2019 which was held at the Konkuk University Glocal Campus in Chungju, South Korea. With this, she qualified for the 2022 Asian Games. She was trained by Hariprasad Patnayak.

- Zimbabwe’s former president Robert Mugabe who ruled the country for 37 years ,has died at the age of 95, the country’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa said today in twitter.
- China’s central bank officer said that China’s proposed new Digital Currency would have some similarities to Facebook’s Libra coin and would be able to be used across major payment platforms such as WeChat and Alipay
- H&M, the world’s second-biggest fashion retailer, announced yesterday that it had stopped purchasing leather from Brazil for the time being due to environmental concerns highlighted by Amazon wildfires.
- Price of oil steadied near $56 a barrel as China said it would resume talks with the US to try and resolve the trade war that has weighed on global growth and fuel consumption.

- Ad and media agency group Dentsu Aegis Network yesterday declared that it’s India Chairman Ashish Bhasin would become Asia-Pacific (APAC) chief executive officer (CEO) with immediate effect.
- The Principal Bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) yesterday approved JSW Steel’s Rs 19,700-crore bid for debt-laden Bhusan Power & Steel.
- A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) and Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange (ZCE), a commodity exchanges in China, for co-operation and the exchange of information.
- Reserve Bank of India has asked all banks to link all new types of floating-rate loans (home, auto loans & and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME)) to external benchmark like repo rate therefore loans will be cheaper from October 1, 2019.
- The Standard Chartered Bank has launched its “DigiSmart” credit card on 4th September. The new credit card is available for a nominal monthly fee of only Rs 49.

- Researchers of IIT_H and Dr B.R. Ambedkar national institute of Technology, Jalandhar have developed the process of synthesizing bone implant materials from egg shells, thus bone substitute materials like tricalcium phosphate could be got from natural resources.
- The Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry launched the Swachh Survekshan 2020 (SS 2020). The Swachh Nagar Mobile App was also launched on the occasion. The app features tracking of waste collection by ULBs through route and vehicle monitoring, notification to citizens, online collection of user fee for waste collection and an effective grievance redressal mechanism.
