तेजस : देश की पहली कॉरपोरेट ट्रेन तेजस एक्सप्रेस को शुक्रवार को लखनऊ जंक्शन पर सीएम योगी आदित्यनाथ ने हरी झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया। कैब-वे पर बैरिकेडिंग कर दी गई थी। यात्रियों के लिए मुख्य गेट से ही प्रवेश था। प्लेटफॉर्म नंबर छह तक पहुंचने में यात्रियों को कुछ दिक्कतों का सामना करना पड़ा। पर, तेजस में पहली यात्रा का जोश, उमंग व उत्साह चरम पर था। टिकट, आईडी वगैरह दिखाने के बाद यात्री जैसे ही प्लेटफॉर्म पर पहुंचे बोगी के गेट पर शंख व डमरू से उनका स्वागत हुआ।

Rajeev Kumar: The CBI approached the apex court today to request it to cancel the anticipatory bail granted to the Kolkata police commissioner Rajeev Kumar. A CBI official said the agency had filed a special leave petition in the top court. But the protection from arrest that Rajeev Kumar received from the Calcutta High Court this week will stay intact for the next one week due to the top court’s Dussehra break that begins Monday.

Bombay high court:  BHC on Friday while refusing to declare Aarey colony a forest and also declining to quash the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation tree authority’s decision allowing felling of over 2,600 trees in the green zone to set up a metro carshed. “The tree authority’s decision-making process was fair, transparent and based on reason. The greens fail not on account of sailing their boats in the wrong channel but on merits,” the Court said.

Maharashtra state assembly polls: The Bharatiya Janata Party has successfully taken up the majority of the seats in the Maharashtra state assembly polls. While the party will field candidates from 164 seats along with smaller allies, the Uddhav Thackeray-led party has been granted 124.The final seat-sharing agreement between the two allies was finalised with the release of the BJP’s fourth list of candidates today.

Former MD of PMC bank arrested: Joy Thomas, the suspended MD of crisis-hit Punjab and Maharashtra (PMC) Bank, has been arrested in an alleged Rs. 6,500 crore fraud case, sources in the Economic Offence Wing in Mumbai. The arrest comes barely a day after the former board of PMC and senior executives of its borrower Housing Development and Infrastructure Ltd (HDIL) were charged with money-laundering by the ED.

AYODHYA CASE: The Supreme Court today said that the arguments in the Ayodhya land case will be completed by October 17, 2019. There is a clear indication that judgment in Ayodhya dispute case is likely to be delivered before CJI Ranjan Gogoi’s retirement in November.

INTERIM PROTECTION: The Supreme Court on Friday extended till October 15 the interim protection from arrest granted by the Bombay high court to civil rights activist Gautam Navlakha in the Koregaon Bhima violence case.

MAHATMA GANDHI : A portrait of Mahatma Gandhi was defaced at Bapu Bhawan in Laxmanbagh Sansthan in Madhya Pradesh on Gandhi Jayanti by unidentified persons who wrote “deshdrohi” (traitor) over it and also stole an urn which was used for immersing his ashes

Meeting on Border security: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today chaired a high-level meeting to review the current status of border security and measures to be taken to strengthen it further. The meeting was attended by Home Secretary, Secretary (Border Management), Special Secretary (Internal Security) and Directors General of Border Security Force, Sashastra Seema Bal, Indo-Tibetan Border Police and Assam Rifles, along with other senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Koregaon Bhima violence case: The Supreme Court (SC) today extended the interim protection from arrest granted to civil rights activist Gautam Navlakha till October 15, when it will next hear the matter. Navlakha had been named by the Mumbai police as one of the accused in the Koregaon Bhima violence case.

Pneumoconiosis: On October 3, Chief Minister of Rajasthan Mr Ashok Gehlot launched ‘Policy on Pneumoconiosis Detection, Prevention, Control and Rehabilitation’. With this, Rajasthan became the first state in India to launch such a policy and in January 2015, it had become the first Indian state to notify Pneumoconiosis as an epidemic. Pneumoconiosis is a disease of the lungs due to inhalation of dust, characterized by inflammation, coughing, and fibrosis. People having pneumoconiosis will be declared permanently disabled, and all benefits under the Persons with Disability Act, 1995, will be accrued to them and their families.

Village Secretariat system: Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) launched the first of its kind Village Secretariat system at Karapa village near Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. It has set up village and ward secretariats which act as a bridge between the government and the people by rendering over 500 types of services at their doorstep.

Mauritius: On October 3, the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Mauritius PravindJugnauth, jointly inaugurated the Metro Express and new ENT (ears, nose and throat) Hospital in Mauritius through a video link. This ENT hospital is also the first paperless E-Hospital in Mauritius.

Facebook: The United States, Britain and Australia have called on Facebook to give authorities the ability to circumvent encryption used in its messaging services — a measure opposed by the social media giant. Facebook has been dogged by several privacy scandals in recent years and has pledged to boost user protections by rolling out end-to-end encryption across all of its social media platforms.But that plan has a risk of weakening the ability of law enforcement to detect criminal acts including terrorism and child pornography, according to a joint letter signed by US Attorney General William Barr, British Home Secretary Priti Patel and Australian Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton.

 National Spot Exchange (NSEL): Six years after the payment default took place on the National Spot Exchange (NSEL), the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police today arrested two former partners of SV Ghatalia & Associates (SVGA).SVGA, was the statutory auditor of NSEL between FY10 and FY12, and is a network firm of global accounting major EY.

UCO Bank :  A major government-owned commercial bank of India, UCO Bank’s (United Commercial Bank) managing director (MD) and CEO, A K Goel has launched three new digital products called , UCash, Digilocker and an app in Kolkata, West Bengal. A new current account facility has also been launched by the bank.
 UCash: It allows the UCO bank Customers to withdraw money from ATMs (Automated Teller Machine) through mobile banking services without using debit card.
 Digilocker : It is designed to enable sharing of verified electronic documents without the use of physical documents.
 Mobile app: It comes with the integration of four existing apps of the bank – UCO Mbanking, UCO UPI, UCO Mpassbook and UCO Secure in a single platform.
Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) certificate can be downloaded through online.

PRAKASH: On October 3, Shri RK Singh, the Minister of State(MoS) for Power and New & Renewable Energy (IC) and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Shri Pralhad Joshi, the Union Minister for Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affairs, jointly launched portal named “PRAKASH” (Power Rail Koyla Availability through Supply Harmony) in New Delhi. This portal was launched in bringing transparency as well as better coordination in coal supplies to power plants.
