. It is settled law that while considering an application under Order 7 Rule 11 of the CPC, the Court has to read the plaint in a exhaustive and meaningful manner and plaint has not to be read only in a formal and cursory manner. If the Court finds that there was gross misuse of process of law and the judicial process was being misused, the Court is duty bound to nip evil in the bud. Drafting craft of the plaint should not be allowed to create confusion and should not be allowed to play fraud with the Court. A clever and crafty drafting should not be allowed to encourage bogus litigation and bogus litigation must be stopped at the initial stage itself.

A series of provisions have been introduced in procedural laws to enable the expeditious disposal of criminal and civil cases. These include, amendment of Section 309, CrPC to discourage unnecessary adjournments; amendment of Section 320, CrPC to rationalise the list of compoundable offences; insertion of a new Chapter XXIA on plea bargaining; insertion of Section 436A for release of undertrial prisoners who have undergone half of the maximum imprisonment; and amendments to Sections 161(3), 164 and 275 of CrPC to allow use of audio / video technology in criminal cases.

The Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) is amending the Terrorism List Governments Sanctions Regulations to implement changes resulting from the Secretary of State’s December 14, 2020 rescission of the designation of Sudan as a State Sponsor of Terrorism. Specifically, OFAC is removing one general license in full and amending another general license to remove references to the Government of Sudan and Sudanese nationals because financial transactions with the Government of Sudan are no longer prohibited by the Terrorism List Governments Sanctions Regulations.
The Farm Credit Administration (FCA or we) issues this direct final rule adopting administrative amendments to eliminate requirements for the Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (Farmer Mac or the Corporation) to submit paper copies of certain reports to the FCA’s Office of Secondary Market Oversight (OSMO). Electronic copies of the reports are sufficient for oversight and examination purposes.
