Funds Released to Various Wakf Institutions for digitization of Waqf records and GIS Mapping of Waqf properties by Govt of India

This Ministry is implementing two schemes namely i) Qaumi Waqf Board Taraqqiati Scheme (QWBTS) and ii) Shahari Waqf Sampatti Vikas Yojana (SWSVY) through Central Waqf Council (CWC). Under QWBTS, financial assistance is released to State Waqf Boards (SWBs) towards computerization and digitization of Waqf records and GIS Mapping of Waqf properties. Under the scheme the Ministry also supports the SWBs for deployment of manpower viz. Assistant Programmer, Survey Assistant, Accountant and Legal Assistant, setting up of Video Conferencing Facility, maintenance of Centralized Computing Facility (CCF) & Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Solution for better administration of SWBs.

Under QWBTS, financial assistance is released to State Waqf Boards (SWBs) towards computerization and digitization of Waqf records and GIS Mapping of Waqf properties. Under the scheme, the Ministry also supports the SWBs for the deployment of manpower viz. Assistant Programmer, Survey Assistant, Accountant and Legal Assistant, setting up of Video Conferencing Facility, maintenance of Centralized Computing Facility (CCF) & Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution for better administration of SWBs. Under SWSVY, interest-free loan is provided to Waqf Institutions/Waqf Boards for taking up economically viable projects on the urban Waqf land such as commercial complexes, marriage halls, hospitals, cold storages etc. The details of Grants-in-aid released to CWC by the Ministry for the year  2016-17 is Rs. 280 lakh; 2017-18 is Rs. 1218 lakh; 2018-19 is Rs. 1495 lakh; 2019-20 is Rs.1491 lakh; 2020-21 is Rs. 300 lakh. During the last 5 years an amount of Rs.1761.90 lakh is provided towards interest-free loans to various Waqf institutions/ Waqf Boards by CWC for the development of various projects like Commercial and Residential complexes, Auditoriums, Hospitals, Wedding Halls, Cold storages etc.

 All viable proposals received from Waqf institution routed through SWBs seeking interest-free loans for the development of Waqf properties in various States including Maharashtra are considered in accordance to the scheme guidelines.
