मानव आज जहाँ है, वहाँ प्रारम्भमे ही नहीं पहुँच गया था, इसके लिये उसे बड़े बड़े संघषोसे गुजरना पढ़ा । मानव समाजकी प्रगतिका सैद्वान्तिक विवेचन मैंने अपने ग्रन्थ “मानव समाज”में किया है। इसका सरल चित्रण भी किया जा सकता है, ओर उससे प्रगतिके समभने में आसानी हो सकती है, इसी ख्यालने मुझे “वोल्गा से गंगा” लिखनेके लिये मजबूर किया।
