आज देश mother of democracy के रूप में अपने इन प्राचीन आदर्शों को, और संविधान की भावना को लगातार मजबूत कर रहा है। Pro-people policies की ताकत से आज देश और देश का गरीब, देश की माताएं-बहनें, उनका सशक्तिकरण हो रहा है। सामान्य मानवी के लिए आज क़ानूनों को सरल बनाया जा रहा है। Timely justice के लिए हमारी judiciary भी लगातार कई सार्थक कदम उठा रही है। आज भी सुप्रीम कोर्ट द्वारा शुरू किए गए e-initiatives को launch करने का अवसर मुझे मिला है। मैं इस शुरुआत के लिए, और ‘ease of justice’ के प्रयासों के लिए मैं आप सभी को बधाई देता हूँ।

If there is a culprit here, it is not my son—it is myself—it is I!—I, who for these last twenty-five years have opposed capital punishment—have contended for the inviolability of human life—have committed this crime, for which my son is now arraigned. Here I denounce myself, Mr. Advocate General! I have committed it under all aggravated circumstances—deliberately, repeatedly, tenaciously.

We owe it to our Catholic fellow subjects to continue our endeavors to define in a friendly and pacific way the line which separates the secular from the spiritual power. At the same time, we consider it our duty to proceed with the utmost caution in order to spare the feelings of the religious, and endeavor to convince the pope of our temperate and conciliatory views.

Women lawyers are present in even greater numbers; they are taking leadership positions; they are succeeding and are in positions of authority. There are some areas, including at the highest levels, where women may not be being afforded the same opportunities as their male counterparts. And the reality is that family life for some will delay or render more difficult promotion or success. But generally much has been achieved towards equality in the legal profession. And the Australian Women Lawyers has played a vital part in that.

We accepted the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court over all events on the territory of Ukraine. We introduced changes in the legislation of Ukraine to simplify and make our cooperation with this court more effective. We are in constant and quite practical communication with representatives of the International Criminal Court in order to achieve the common goal of bringing the Russian occupiers to justice for the crimes committed by them on the territory of Ukraine.
