China’s foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian criticized the U.S. for allegedly supporting Taiwan independence. During a press briefing, Lin condemned Taiwan leader Lai Ching-te’s interactions with U.S. officials and asserted that Taiwan’s status is a vital issue for China, urging adherence to the one-China principle and cessation of U.S. involvement in Taiwan affairs.
