The entire practice of medical photography and medical
illustration as we know it today may be said to have been
pioneered over the last quarter of a century. During this
span much progress has been made in the establishment
of standards, qualifications and codes of practice in one
country or another, but by virtue of the compact nature of
the specialty few authoritative texts on the subject have
emerged.
