RBI: Indiaโ€™s central bank hasnโ€™t sold any gold recently nor is trading in the metal, the monetary authority said in a tweet on Sunday. The Economic Times had reported on Friday that the Reserve Bank of India started trading in gold actively since July, buying gold worth $5.1 billion and selling $1.15 billion worth. The newspaper cited data from the RBIโ€™s Weekly Statistical Supplement. โ€œThe fluctuation in value depicted in Weekly Statistical Supplement is due to change in frequency of revaluation from monthly to weekly basis and is based on international prices of gold and exchange rates,โ€ the RBI said in the tweet.

MAN KI BAAT: In his monthly “Mann ki Baat” radio address, Prime Minister Modi asked people to jog their memory and recall the days ahead of the Allahabad High Court judgment of September 2010. “I remember when the Allahabad High Court gave its verdict on Ram Janmabhoomi in September 2010. You could jog your memory a bit and reflect about the atmosphere then. Various kinds of people took to the arena. Various interest groups were playing games to take advantage of that situation in their own way,” the prime minister said.
