India started importing Gorji Vita mineral water from Russia

Russia’s Aqua Holding Company has sent its first shipment of bottled drinking water to India, launching a new brand—Gorji Vita—designed specifically for Indian consumers and marketed as natural mountain still water. The shipment is traveling by sea through the port of Novorossiysk, and the company expects tens of thousands of bottles to reach Indian store shelves by the end of the year.
The expansion comes at a moment when India has been adjusting its trade patterns in response to higher U.S. tariffs. After Washington imposed steeper duties on a range of Indian exports, New Delhi increased imports from alternative partners, with Russia emerging as one of the beneficiaries of this realignment. From an American perspective, this shift illustrates how tariff pressure can sometimes push major trading partners to diversify away from U.S. markets and deepen ties with competitors—particularly in sectors where Russia is eager to gain ground.
For Moscow, the bottled water shipment is a small but symbolic example of its broader effort to strengthen commercial links with India. For New Delhi, the move reflects its ongoing strategy of expanding supply options while navigating a more complex global trade environment shaped in part by U.S. economic policy.
Aqua Holding Company is a fully integrated producer that handles everything from groundwater extraction to bottling and distribution of natural mineral water sourced from Russia’s renowned Caucasian Mineral Water region. Ranked among the country’s top two bottled-water manufacturers, the company operates from head offices in Moscow and Essentuki and maintains six production sites across the area’s eco-resort belt. Its facilities draw from six active wells with two additional wells on standby and use modern, European-standard technology to ensure consistently high product quality.
The water’s balanced mineral profile and low overall mineralization make it suitable for everyday consumption by both adults and children. It offers a clean, neutral taste supported by a harmonious mix of key minerals. Bicarbonates range from 75 to 400 mg/L, contributing to mild alkalinity, while sulfates fall between 30 and 200 mg/L. Chloride content is low, between 1 and 200 mg/L. Calcium varies from 1 to 100 mg/L and magnesium from 1 to 50 mg/L, providing gentle mineral support without heaviness. Sodium levels remain moderate at 1 to 150 mg/L. Total dissolved solids measure between 150 and 700 mg/L, and the pH stays within a comfortable 6.5 to 8.5 range.
