East India Company incorporated cultivation of opium in India, and export it to China within its financial system-Karl Marx (1858)

. In 1800, the import into China had reached the number of 2,000 chests. Having, during the eighteenth century, borne the aspect common to all feuds between the foreign merchant and the national custom-house, the struggle between the East India Company and the Celestial Empire assumed, since the beginning of the nineteenth century, features quite distinct and exceptional; while the Chinese Emperor, in order to check the suicide of his people, prohibited at once the import of the poison by the foreigner, and its consumption by the natives, the East India Company was rapidly converting the cultivation of opium in India, and its contraband sale to China, into internal parts of its own financial system.

Control and prohibition of Cannabis and Cannabis-Related Substances

Cannabidiol can be chemically synthesized or it can be prepared from the cannabis plant. The approved medication (Epidiolex) is a preparation of the cannabis plant. The Committee noted that medicines without psychoactive effects that are produced as preparations of the cannabis plant will contain trace amounts of delta- 9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC; dronabinol).

where the narcotic drug or psychotropic substance consumed is cocaine, morphine, diacetylmorphine or any other narcotic drug or any psychotropic substance as may be specified in this behalf by the Central Government by notification in the Official Gazette, with rigorous imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine which may extend to twenty thousand rupees; or with both

It has been prepared by the International Narcotics Control Board to assist Governments in completing the annual statistical reports on narcotic drugs (Form C), the quarterly statistics of imports and exports of narcotic drugs (Form A) and the estimates of annual requirements for narcotic drugs (Form B) as well as related questionnaires.
