Canon Law of Roman Catholic Church

The 1983 Code of Canon Law, known as the Johanno-Pauline Code, comprises a total of 1752 canons structured into seven books. These cover general norms, the People of God, the church's teaching function, the sanctifying office, the church's temporal goods, sanctions within the church, and judicial processes. The Latin Church, part of the Roman Catholic Church, includes five main rites in communion with the Holy See: Alexandrian, West Syrian, Armenian, Byzantine, and East Syrian rites, each encompassing various churches. All these groups adhere to the Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches.
