The World Gold Council serves as the market development organization for the gold industry, aiming to stimulate and sustain demand for gold, provide industry leadership, and act as the global authority on the gold market. Governed by a Board of Directors, which convenes four times per year, the council includes representatives from its members and the Chief Executive Officer. The Chief Financial Officer also serves as the secretary during these meetings. The 32 Members of the World Gold Council are leading gold mining companies located across the globe, with mining operations in over 45 countries.
