NSC Issues Worldwide Safety Guidelines Following Iran-Related Threats
Due to the escalating tensions with Iran, the National Security Council (NSC) of Israel is calling on all Israeli citizens abroad to take increased precaution at every destination worldwide. According to the council, the current situation significantly raises the likelihood that the Iranian regime may attempt attacks on Israeli or Jewish targets overseas in the immediate future. They add that, based on past events, other terrorist elements or lone attackers could also be motivated to harm Israelis abroad.
In light of this assessment, the NSC urges Israelis traveling or residing abroad to strictly follow its travel warnings and to check the specific warning level for each destination in advance. Key recommendations include:
โข Avoid posting in real time on social media, including details about where you are, where youโre staying, your travel plans, or any other information that could reveal your movements.
โข Avoid attending unprotected Israeli or Jewish-linked events or locations.
โข Stay alert in areas associated with Israel or Judaism, such as Chabad houses, synagogues, and Israeli/Jewish restaurants, and pay attention to unusual behavior, suspicious objects, or unfamiliar individuals.
โข In case of any threat or attack, contact local security services immediately. Travelers are advised to keep local emergency numbers written down in advance.
โข Avoid entering neighborhoods, markets, or districts known to be hostile toward Israelis or Jews.
Detailed, country-specific recommendations are available on the NSC website.ย
