A. Introduction
Prosecutors should identify and, where possible, seek to rectify evidentialย weaknesses, but, subject to the Threshold Test , they shouldย swiftly stop cases which do not meet the evidential stage of the testing which cannot be strengthened by furtherย investigation, or where the public interest clearly does not require aย prosecution. Although prosecutors primarily consider theย evidence and information supplied by the police and other investigators, theย suspect or those acting on his or her behalf may also submit evidence orย information to the prosecutor via the police or other investigators, prior toย charge, to help inform the prosecutorโs decision.
