Bills shall be issued at a periodicity of not more than 2 months in respect of domestic, commercial and general purpose consumers. Agricultural consumers are provided with Pass Books and C.C charges are collected monthly as per tariff fixed for this category. In respect of all other categories of consumers, the bills shall be issued monthly.

Union Power Ministry has drafted Rules providing for Rights of Electricity Consumers for the First Time. Electricity Consumers are the most important stakeholders in the power sector. The sector exists because of them. Having provided access to electricity to all citizens, it is now important to focus on consumer satisfaction.
‘Installed Load’ means the sum of the rated inputs of the electrical apparatus installed on the consumer’s premises; ‘Connected Load’ means that part of the installed load of consume/ supplied by the supply undertaking and ‘Contract Demand’ means demand fixed by agreement that the consumer may not exceed except according to the conditions of the tariff.
