Passenger vehicle sales: India’s passenger vehicle sales slumped 23.7 per cent in September, the eleventh straight month of declines, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) data showed that sales dropped to 223,317 units in September.
Kerala Bank: On October 10, RBI has given its final approval of Kerala governmentโs long-pending proposal of setting up its own โKerala Bankโ, by amalgamating 13 district co-operative banks (DCBs) with Kerala State Co-operative Bank.
Moodyโs: On October 10, the International rating agency Moodyโs has reduced Indiaโs gross Domestic Product(GDP) growth forecast to 5.8% for FY20 (Fiscal Year20) from its previous estimate of 6.2%.

EU: The European Union imposed tariffs as high as 66.4 per cent on steel road wheels from China, targeting manufacturers such as Zhejiang Jingu Co. and Xingmin Intelligent Transportation Systems Co.
Asia Pacific growth: Growth in developing East Asian and Pacific economies is expected to slow from 6.3 per cent last year to 5.8 per cent in 2019 and to 5.7 and 5.6 per cent in 2020 and 2021 respectively, reflecting a broad-based decline in export growth and manufacturing activity, the World Bank said on October 10.
Iran: Two rockets struck an Iranian tanker travelling through the Red Sea off the coast of Saudi Arabia on October 11, Iranian officials said. The tanker, owned by National Iranian Oil Company, had suffered heavy damage and was leaking oil into the Red Sea some 60 miles from Jeddah.
