NATIONAL

  • Census 2021: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said that mobile app will be used in Census 2021. He also said that it would be a transformation from paper census to digital census.
  • SC on illegal construction: The Supreme Court on Monday pulled up the Kerala government for not complying with its orders to demolish four apartment complexes constructed at Kochi’s Maradu in violation of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) notifications.
  • Climate Summit in New York: Japan’s new environment minister, Shinjiro Koizumi, pledged on Sunday to mobilise young people to push his coal-dependent country toward a low-carbon future by making the fight against climate change “sexy” and “fun.”
  • EC`S wife under IT: Election Commissioner Ashok Lavasa’s wife Novel Singhal Lavasa has come under the scanner of the Income Tax Department on charges of alleged tax evasion, official sources said on Monday.

INTERNATIONAL

  • Practice, don’t preach, Modi at UN: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday, addressed the United Nations summit on climate change and said that India believes in practice than preaching.   • Tehran: President Hassan Rouhani on Monday departed Tehran for New York to attend the UN General Assembly on a mission to win Iran support against “cruel” pressure from arch-foe the United States.
  • London: Britain has concluded that Iran was responsible for attacks on oil facilities in Saudi Arabia, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Sunday.
  • London: Amid uncertainty around UK’s withdrawal from the European Union, Prime Minister Boris Johnson and US President Donald Trump have agreed to strike a bilateral trade deal by July 2020.

ECONOMY TODAY

  • RBI: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has expressed disagreement over the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s (Sebi) proposed framework enabling credit rating agencies (CRAs) to legally access borrower database, helping them in timely recognition of default.
  • ELECTRIC VEHICLES : Allaying fears of the automobile industry, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday said there is no need to ban petrol and diesel vehicles as electric mobility has picked up momentum on its own and all buses would be electric in two years.
  • Tourism: Thomas Cook Group Plc, the 178-year travel company that became one of the U.K.’s best-known brands, has collapsed under a pile of debt, leaving tens of thousands of British tourists stranded across Europe.
  • Disinvestment: India aims to sell two or three state-owned firms to local or foreign firms to raise up to Rs 600 billion ($8.5 billion) by March 2020, a senior Finance Ministry official said on Monday.

HINDI CURRENT AFFAIRS

  • कश्मीर मुद्दे पर ट्रंप का बड़ा बयान, कहा- भारत-पाक तैयार तभी करूंगा मध्यस्थता। जम्मू-कश्मीर से अनुच्छेद 370 हटने के बाद पाकिस्तान ने एक बार फिर अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप के सामने कश्मीर का मुद्दा उठाया है।
  • कश्मीर में फिर खुलेंगे 50 हजार बंद मंदिर, मोदी सरकार ने शुरू किया सर्वे ।केंद्रीय मंत्री जी. किशन रेड्डी ने कश्मीर को लेेकर ऐलान किया है।
  • जलवायु परिवर्तन पर UN में बोले PM मोदी, सिंगल यूज प्लास्टिक के लिए छेड़ा है अभियान।
  • केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने प्रत्येक नागरिक के लिए पासपोर्ट, आधार, वोटर कार्ड समेत सभी पहचान पत्रों को मिलाकर एक बहुउद्देश्यीय आईडी कार्ड का प्रस्ताब किया ।
  • NRC:राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ (आरएसएस) प्रमुख मोहन भागवत ने राष्ट्रीय नागरिकता रजिस्टर (एनआरसी) को लेकर बड़ा बयान दिया है. उन्होंने कहा कि एक भी हिंदू को देश छोड़कर नहीं जाना पड़ेगा. उन्होंने ये बातें असम में एनआरसी से जुड़ी चिंताओं को दूर करने का प्रयास करते हुए कहीं रविवार को कोलकाता में आरएसएस और भाजपा समेत उससे जुड़े संगठनों की एक बैठक हुई थी.। इसके बाद संघ के एक पदाधिकारी ने कहा, ‘संघ प्रमुख ने स्पष्ट कहा कि एक भी हिंदू को देश नहीं छोड़ना होगा. उन्होंने कहा कि दूसरे राष्ट्रों में प्रताड़ना और कष्ट सहने के बाद भारत आए हिंदू यहीं रहेंगे.’
