Flat demolition: The Supreme Court today directed that demolition of flats built on the coastal zone of Kochi’s Maradu to be completed in 138 days, in accordance with the time schedule provided by the Kerala government. The apex court also directed payment of R 25 lakh as interim compensation by the state government to each flat owner within four weeks. 

Assam NRC:The Election Commission has decided that the registered voters in Assam who were not included in the National Register of Citizens (NRC) will not be marked “doubtful” and can keep voting in elections until a Foreigners’ tribunal takes a decision on their case. A poll body official confirmed the decision.

I-T officials sacked: The central government on Friday sacked 15 income tax officials for corruption and a few other charges that comes in accordance to Prime Minister Modi’s pledge to go after the ‘black sheep’ in the tax department.

PM meets Rouani: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reaffirmed India’s support for giving priority to diplomacy, dialogue and confidence building for maintaining peace and security in the Persian Gulf amidst tensions in the region, as he held wide-ranging talks with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on regional and global developments of mutual interest.

Museum in Kolkata:West Bengal government has plans to set up a museum at the north Kolkata house of 19th century social reformer Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar where he had spent the last few years of his life.The museum will come up at Vidyasagar’s residence at Badur Bagan area where pictures and models, chronicling his life from his birth place at Birsinghapur village in Paschim Medinipur district to the house in north Kolkata, will be put on display.

EAC-PM: On September 25, Union Government reconstituted the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) for a period of 2 years with effect from September 26, 2019. Dr. Bibek Debroy will continue as Chairman and Mr Ratan P. Watal will continue as the Member Secretary. These are the 2 full time members.

TB Prevalence Survey: Union minister for Health and Family Welfare (HFW) Dr Harsh Vardhan on 25^th September launched ‘TB Harega Desh Jeetega’ campaign & National TB Prevalence Survey 2019 in New Delhi. He flagged off a van for the National TB Prevalence Survey 2019 (25 vans will be part of the survey for 6 months) and unveiled TB India Report (2019).

PMAY-U: The 47th Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) headed by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Secretary Durga Shanker Mishra approved 630 proposals from participating states for the construction of 1.23 lakh houses with an overall investment of Rs. 4,988 cr under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana– Urban (PMAY-U). With this, cumulative sanctions of houses under PMAY (U) crossed 90 lakh houses against the validated demand of 1.12 crore.

Tripartite group: On September 26, A tripartite mechanism to monitor and assess on-the-ground repatriation process of the displaced Rohingya people to Myanmar was jointly agreed by the nations of Bangladesh, Myanmar and China.In October 2019, tripartite group (which consists of the Chinese and Myanmar ambassadors in Dhaka and a director general from the Bangladesh foreign ministry) will hold its first meeting.

Cyprus:Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reiterated India’s consistent support to the “independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and unity” of the Republic of Cyprus.The Prime Minister asserted India’s support during a meeting with Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades on the sidelines of the 74th sessions of the United Nations General Assembly on September 26.

Life imprisonment for honour killig: The brother of Pakistani social media star Qandeel Baloch was convicted of her murder and sentenced to life in prison for “honour killing” today.

Trump-Ukraine row: The whistleblower whose complaint has shaken the foundations of Donald Trump’s presidency is a male officer of the Central Intelligence Agency who was seconded to the White House, the New York Times reported Thursday.

India-Pakistan faceoff: Ahead of the United Nations General Assembly sessions, the diplomatic flare-up between India and Pakistan reached ahead on Thursday as the latter’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi failed to turn up for Jaishankar’s opening statement during the SAARC meeting.

H- Social Creator: Hyundai Motor India Foundation has launched a new programme called H-Social Creator, to support graduate or post graduate students who develop novel ideas on road safety, environment and clean India, and Hyundai Motor India Foundation will invest Rs 15 lakh as initial capital in these ideas.

Sell of land holdings: The government wants to sell excess land holdings held by state-run enterprises and will soon be appointing international consultants to help on the same, a senior official said on September 26.The process which is to be carried out by the Niti Aayog with the help of the Finance Ministry’s Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), will be a big source of revenue in the next two years

Preventive Vigilance (PV) portal : On September 25,the Punjab National Bank(PNB) has introduced 1^st of its kind Preventive Vigilance (PV) portal to facilitate all staff members to contribute towards arresting procedural lapses and unhealthy practices, It was introduced at a function held at PNB Corporate Office, chaired by Sharad Kumar, Central Vigilance Commissioner.

HDFC bank:As per the report, “BrandZ Top 75 Most Valuable Indian Brands 2019 ranking” released by  WPP and Kantar Millward Brown, HDFC Bank (Housing Development Finance Corporation Limited) was declared the country’s most valuable brand for the sixth consecutive year with the brand value of $ 22.70 billion (1.61 lakh crore rupees). LIC (Life Insurance Corporation of India) stood at number two with a brand value of Rs 1.43 lakh crore.

LPG supply crisis:This festive season, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) delivery in the country is affected by a recent terror attack at the Saudi Aramco facilities. A shortfall in assured supply from the energy major has resulted in a huge booking backlog across states such as Maharashtra, Karnataka, Punjab and Goa, according to industry sources.

संयुक्त राष्ट्र की 74वीं आम सभा, किन मुद्दों पर है दुनिया का ध्यान-

न्यूयॉर्क में हर साल होने वाली संयुक्त राष्ट्र की आम सभा का आज आखिरी दिन था. 74वीं आम सभा में ख़ूब भाषण हुए. पांच दिनों तक चलने वाले इस भाषण में दुनिया भर के मुल्कों के राष्ट्रपति या प्रधानमंत्री के भाषण से किस तरह की चिन्ताएं उभर रही हैं, उन भाषणों में समाधान का संकल्प कितना है या भाषण देने की औपचारिकता कितनी है, ईमानदारी कितनी है, इस लिहाज़ से भाषणों को देखा जाना चाहिए तभी हम समझ पाएंगे कि संयुक्त राष्ट्र की आम सभा में भाषण का क्या मतलब है. कश्मीर के नज़रिए से देखें तो आम सभा में इस पर ईरान या यमन की तरह चर्चा नहीं हुई और न ज़िक्र हुआ. आम सभा में दिन के नौ बजे से रात के नौ बजे तक भाषण होता है. जैसे 27 सितंबर को ही 37 देशों के प्रमुखों का भाषण होगा. भाषण की शुरूआत सेक्रेट्री जनरल एंतोनियो गुतेरेज़ ने की. गुतेरेज़ ने कहा कि दुनिया में टकराव के कई क्षेत्र बन गए हैं जिन पर तुरंत ध्यान देना ज़रूरी है लेकिन उन्होंने कश्मीर का ज़िक्र नहीं किया. सीरीया, कोरिया, सूडान, अफगानिस्तान और वेनेज़ुएला का ज़रूर नाम लिया. ये वो समस्याएं जो अपना रूप बदल लेती हैं मगर समाधान नहीं होता है. आज ही भारत के प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी का भाषण हुआ और पाकिस्तान के प्रधानमंत्री इमरान ख़ान का भी हुआ. बांग्लादेश और नेपाल के प्रमुख का भी भाषण होगा. ज़ाहिर है दक्षिण एशिया के मुल्कों के प्रमुखों के भाषण को ग़ौर से देखा जाना चाहिए कि वे इन इलाकों में किन बातों से चिन्तित हैं. उनके पास नया आइडिया क्या है और क्या साहसिक कदम उठाने जा रहे हैं.
