Iran condemns US for Venezuela embargo threats

Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani has slammed the US for making threats to resume sanctions against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
The spokesperson said, “Resorting to such measures is a direct interference in the internal affairs of countries and a violation of the UN Charter, and its continuation will elevate the determination and cooperation of independent countries to resist against such interventionist policies.”
Kanaani emphasized that using sanctions as a weapon against other countries by the US is against the rights of governments and nations, human rights and principles of international law.
