The President of the Republic, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi , considers the Working Visit to India to be positive, leaving the country motivated by the fact that it was โextremely productiveโ.
The official arrived in the Indian state of Gujarat last Tuesday (01/09) at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as part of the strengthening and deepening of friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries, as well as promoting opportunities for investment in Mozambique.

During his stay in Gujarat, President Nyusi participated in the 10th Edition of the Gujarat Global Summit, an event considered one of the most renowned global forums for business and networking, knowledge sharing and strategic partnerships for inclusive growth and sustainable development of countries.
He highlighted his participation in this summit given the fact that he started the year with an economic activity, in a summit that for him had the advantage of being very integrated, addressing topics other than development and of greatest interest to Mozambique in all aspects, namely health, technology, general education, technology, agriculture, mining, infrastructure, energy and mining.
โThe initial assessment we make makes it clear that it was a moment of learning, but it also gave us space to share what we know and what we are as a country: our potentialโ, said the President of the Republic today in a conference press conference, which marked the end of his visit to India.
The Head of State began his work with a meeting with the Indian Prime Minister, where they reviewed aspects of bilateral cooperation, โbut we also traveled the world to see the new reality, including how we manage the situation of protecting planet Earthโ , concluded the statesman.

At the meeting, President Nyusi explained to the Indian leader the evolution of the political, economic and social situation in Mozambique, but the areas that were the focus of the debate were security, transport and communications, mining, energy, agriculture and industrialization.
โWe were clear that we are very interested in the areas of agro-processing, science and technology and innovation, which is the reason why the development of this country is impressive. It was clear that in 10 years they jumped from 11th position as the most developed country to fifth. The speed is enormous and the country is committed to moving to third position very soonโ, informed the Head of State.
In addition to this meeting with the Prime Minister, the statesman met with the Chief Minister of the State of Gujarat. The experience that Mozambique has gained, according to President Nyusi, is the evolution of the decentralization process and how through this process they are able to quickly grow, now being responsible for 20 percent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Afterward, he met with authorities from other countries, as was the case with the Czech Prime Minister, Petr Fiala, to review the visit he made to the Czech Republic in August 2023.
โThe first issue we expressed was satisfaction with what we discussed, did and defined during the visit, because the follow-up was immediately noticeable […] in the areas of cooperation that we defined, which are defense, technology and renewable energies and this is to have results, and the opening that this country is making with Mozambique was clear at the meetingโ, said President Nyusi.
Among others, the statesman also met with the Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam at his invitation to express his interest in investing in the extractive industry in Mozambique, but also to renew the invitation to President Nyusi to visit Vietnam.
In general, the President of the Republic states that the conversations he held allowed him to know that the country is on a good path.
โTherefore, let us rest assured that development projects and investments should flow more, we open the country more. Our businesspeople were very active in raising concerns and establishing partnerships. The keynote is: together we will work, together we will move towards the common goodโ, he stated.
