Ratan Tata to be accorded state funeral, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde
Veteran industrialist Ratan Tata (28.12.1937 โ 09.10.2024) died at Breach Candy Hospital at 11.30 pm on Wednesday, leaving behind a monumental legacy in the world of business and philanthropy. The chairman emeritus of the Tata Group was 86 years old at the time of his passing. For the past few days, Mr. Tata was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital in south Mumbai, where he received treatment from a dedicated medical team. He was hospitalized on Monday (October 7, 2024) due to age-related issues, including challenges with his general health and efforts to control his blood pressure.
The Tata Sons through their website issued the following statement on October 9, 2024, at around 11.50 PM :
It is with a profound sense of loss that we bid farewell to Mr. Ratan Naval Tata, a truly uncommon leader whose immeasurable contributions have shaped not only the Tata Group but also the very fabric of our nation.
