The Howrah Bar Association is a Registered Bar Association under the West Bengal Society Registration Act and representative of affiliated members to the Bar Council of West Bengal under the Advocates Act 1961 for Council Election or Welfare.
The Howrah Bar Associated is governed by Rules/Regulations (1956) for this purpose, which covers the Administration of Members, Management of the Library and other Properties, and Election of the Executive Committee Members. A rent-free accommodation has been provided by the Ld District Judge for running the Library. A responsible Secretary in concurrence with Executive members reads the Account/s before the General Body on a yearly basis before the desolation of the incumbent Executive Committee.
The Howrah Bar Association issues Practice Certificates to the affiliated members for Higher Judicial Services and maintains Professional Standards.
