This high-level bhakti does not contain an inkling of self-desire.
“âtmendriya sukha-bânchâ tare bole kâm,
krishnendriya sukha-bânchâ dhore prem nâm.”
Meaning – “’Lust’ is ‘the desire for self-pleasure’, while ‘love’ indicates ‘the desire to please Sri Krishna’.” – (Sri Chaitanya-Charitâmrita)
Srimad-Bhâgavatam (11.14.21) states –
“bhaktyaham ekayagrahyah sraddhayatma priyah satam”
The Lord says Himself – “I am the beloved of the saints (Vaishnavs), only bhakti
can control and charm me.”
“ananya-cetah satam yo mam smarati nityasah
tasyamaham sulabhah partha nityayuktasya yoginah” – [Gita 8.14]
