Historical Overview of Hindu-Muslim Riots | 1713 to 1977

This article outlines a historical timeline of Hindu-Muslim riots in India from 1713 to 1977, detailing various incidents that sparked communal tensions. The cases involve disputes over religious practices, ritual provocations, offensive publications, and the construction of places of worship. Many riots were triggered by simultaneous festivals or a reaction to social movements, with underlying themes of mutual suspicion and resentment between the communities. The escalating patterns of violence throughout the centuries illustrate a complex interplay of cultural, religious, and political dynamics in the region, leading to significant societal conflicts and disruptions over time.
