Maulana Abul Kalam Azad to be a Member of the Council of the Governor-General of India (Jan 1947)

On January 15, 1947, Asaf Ali vacated his position as a Member of the Council of the Governor-General of India. Subsequently, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was appointed to this role and officially assumed office on the same day, as announced by the Government of India’s Home Department.
