MOU – 12th Session of Indo-Iran Joint Commission held in Delhi – 20-21/05/2002

While reviewing development of friendly relations between India and Iran, two Sides noted with satisfaction the constitution of institutional and legal mechanisms for the expansion and intensification of bilateral ties between the two Sides. The two Sides reiterated their commitment to further expand and strengthen bilateral ties.

Japan-North Korea Pyongyang Declaration-2002

Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and Chairman Kim Jong-Il of the DPRK National Defense Commission met and had talks in Pyongyang on September 17, 2002. Both leaders confirmed the shared recognition that establishing a fruitful political, economic and cultural relationship between Japan and the DPRK through the settlement of unfortunate past between them and the outstanding issues of concern would be consistent with the fundamental interests of both sides, and would greatly contribute to the peace and stability of the region.

U.S. International Reserve Position in Nov 2002

The Treasury Department today released U.S. reserve assets data for the latest week. As indicated in this table, U.S. reserve assets totaled $75,926 million as of the end of that week, compared to $76,482 million as of the end of the prior week.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is a permanent intergovernmental international organisation, the creation of which was announced on 15 June 2001 in Shanghai (China) by the Republic of Kazakhstan, the People's Republic of China, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was preceded by the Shanghai Five mechanism.-The Republic of Kazakhstan, People's Republic of China, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan which are the founder states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (which is referred to as further SCO or the Organization)
