Preamble
This Restatement presents a unified doctrinal synthesis of the principles governing the law of evidence.
Drawing upon the convergent traditions of the Indian Evidence Act of 1872 (Now Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023) and the Anglo-American jurisprudence embodied in the US Federal Rules of Evidence, it seeks to restate the philosophy, structure, and ethical foundation of proof in a single coherent idiom of modern legal English.
Theย Prime Perspectiveย views evidence not merely as a set of procedural instruments, but as a moral architecture of justice โ a system designed to reconcile truth with fairness, and reason with humanity.
It proceeds from the premise that the admissibility and evaluation of evidence are acts of disciplined judgment, rooted in the balance between relevance, reliability, and equity. In this spirit, the Restatement aspires to provide an interpretive framework capable of guiding both judicial decision and scholarly reflection across jurisdictions.

Declaration of Purpose
This Restatement is intended for international jurists, scholars, advocates, and students who seek not only the technical order of rules (Civil or Criminal), but the philosophical coherence that underlies them.
It is dedicated to the enduring proposition that the law of evidence is the conscience of the trial โ the discipline by which justice transforms fact into truth.
