The Laws of Arms Control and Disarmament

This text outlines various disarmament treaties aimed at reducing the harm caused by military weaponry and ensuring environmental protection. Key agreements include the 1976 Convention prohibiting hostile environmental modification, the 1980 Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons with several protocols addressing excessive injuries and indiscriminate effects, and the 1992 Chemical Weapons Convention. The 1996 Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty and the 1997 Anti-Personnel Mines Convention further emphasize efforts to control dangerous weapons. Other significant treaties include the 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions, the 2010 Central African Convention on Small Arms, the 2013 Arms Trade Treaty, and the 2017 Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
