Asia-Pacific
The Asia-Pacific region, encompassing China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, India, and the United States, remains a central arena for geopolitical and economic competition. The primary purpose of regional cooperation is to maintain stability, secure trade routes, and support sustainable development across the Indo-Pacific. Countries aim to protect maritime security in the South China Sea, strengthen supply-chain resilience, and expand technological exchange, particularly in digital infrastructure and green energy.
The prevailing strategy involves balancing major-power influence while promoting multilateral frameworks, including ASEAN, APEC, and the Quad partnership between the United States, Japan, India, and Australia. China seeks to advance economic integration through the Belt and Road Initiative, while the U.S. focuses on strengthening alliances and maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific. Smaller nations pursue diversified diplomacy to safeguard sovereignty and ensure inclusive regional growth.
