Union Education Minister inaugurated Technology Business Incubator at IIIT Sri City AP

Union Minister for Education Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ virtually inaugurated the Gyan Circle Ventures, a MeitY funded Technology Business Incubator (TBI) of Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sri City (Chittoor), Andhra Pradesh through Video Conference here today. Shri Amit Khare, Secretary, Higher Education, Shri. Ajay Prakash Sawhney, Secretary, MeitY; Shri Satish Chandra, Special Chief Secretary HE, Government of Andhra Pradesh; Shri. Bala M.S. Chairman, Board of Governors, IIIT Sri City Chittoor; Shri. Srinivasa C. Raju, Chairman, Sri City; Prof. G. Kannabiran, Director, IIIT Sri City Chittoor and senior officials of the Ministry were present on the occasion.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has published the rules for the protection of Good Samaritans vide GSR 594 (E) dated 29th September 2020. The rules provide for the Rights of Good Samaritan which include that a Good Samaritan shall have the rights as detailed in the rules and shall be treated respectfully without any discrimination on the grounds of religion, nationality, caste or sex. No police officer or any other person shall compel a Good Samaritan to disclose his/her name, identity, address or any such other personal details.

Jalpaiguri Airport upgraded: Now 500 passenger handling capacity in peak hours

Catering to a growing city of promising tourism options, Jabalpur airport is witnessing the rise in passenger traffic. The Airport is now getting upgraded to provide better services to the air travellers of the region. The upgradation work undertaken at the airport includes construction of New Terminal Building, ATC Tower and Technical Block, Fire Station Category VII, other buildings and extension of runway & associated works. State government handed over 468.43 acres of land to AAI for development work in 2015, total land measuring to 775 acres.

Biennial election to the Karnataka Legislative Council

Considering the unforeseen situation of public health emergency due to COVID-19 and the guidelines & orders passed under the Disaster Management Act, 2005 by the competent authority, the Election Commission, on 08.06.2020 passed an Order under Article 324 of Constitution of India read with section 16 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, and directed that the process of election to the abovementioned seats be initiated at a later date after reviewing the prevailing situation.
