English Translation of Guru Parampara
We offer our respectful obeisance, in succession, to Śrī Kṛṣṇa, to Brahmā, to the sage Devarṣi Nārada, and to Śrī Bādarāyaṇa Vyāsa;
then to Śrī Madhva, Śrī Padmanābha, Śrī Nṛhari, Śrī Mādhava,
Akṣobhya, Śrī Jayatīrtha, Śrī Jñānasindhu, Śrī Dayānidhi,
Śrī Vidyānidhi, Śrī Rājendra, and Śrī Jayadharma.
Next we glorify Śrī Puruṣottama Tīrtha, Śrī Brahmanya Tīrtha, and Śrī Vyāsa Tīrtha;
thereafter, with devotion, Śrī Lakṣmīpati Tīrtha and the greatly revered Śrī Mādhavendra Purī.
We then worship his disciples: Śrī Īśvara Purī, Śrī Advaita Ācārya,
Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu, and the spiritual master of the world, Īśvara Purī’s disciple, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu,
by whom the entire universe was delivered through the gift of pure love for Kṛṣṇa.
Śrī Svarūpa Dāmodara, the beloved associate of the Lord,
and the two exalted Gosvāmīs, Śrī Rūpa and Śrī Sanātana,
together with Śrī Jīva Gosvāmī and Śrī Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī, the dearmost of Rūpa and a great thinker;
and Śrī Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja, regarded as most dear to him—
and his foremost beloved follower, Śrī Narottama dāsa, completely devoted to service.
We also praise Śrī Viśvanātha Cakravartī, an excellent devotee following Narottama,
and Śrī Baladeva Vidyābhūṣaṇa, attached to Viśvanātha and a jewel among Gauḍīya Vedānta teachers.
We honor Śrī Jagannātha dāsa Bābājī, the universal master among Vaiṣṇavas,
and the saintly guide to the sacred abode of Śrī Māyāpur.
We glorify Śrī Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura, the foremost pioneer of propagating pure devotion,
and well-known as beloved to all devotees.
His intimate and non-different friend, the exalted great devotee Śrī Gaura-kiśora dāsa Bābājī,
who embodied renunciation, who dispelled the dense darkness of impersonalist misconceptions,
and who made the lotus of the heart blossom with the conclusions of pure devotion.
That divine, supreme swan-like saint was always intensely eager to spread the glorification of Śrī Gaura.
He was accessible to those dear to Hari and honored with the title “Viṣṇupāda.”
We offer respects to Śrī Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Gosvāmī Prabhupāda,
illustrious spiritual master, always engaged in spreading the teachings.
All of these are members of the Gaura-lineage, embodiments of the paramahaṁsa ideal.
And we, their surrendered servants, desire only to accept their remnants.
