Xi Jinping
Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, was educated at Tsinghua University, where he studied chemical engineering and later completed a postgraduate degree in Marxist theory. His political career began at the grassroots level in Shaanxi Province, followed by leadership roles in Fujian, Zhejiang, and Shanghai. Rising through the Communist Party ranks, he became General Secretary of the CPC in 2012 and President in 2013, consolidating his position as China’s core leader.
In diplomacy, Xi promotes major initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative and advocates for multilateralism and China’s “major-country diplomacy.” His relations with Russia are marked by a strategic partnership focused on energy, security coordination, and global governance. Ties with Pakistan remain strong, centered on economic and defence cooperation under the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor. Relations with India are more complex, shaped by border tensions, competitive regional interests, and selective cooperation in multilateral forums.
