Roll of Advocates: 179 new advocates included under Rule 3-A (vi) of Chapter-6, Part-B, Punjab & Haryana High Court Rules and Orders, Volume V
In exercise of the powers conferred under Rule 3-A (vi) of Chapter-6, Part-B, Punjab, and Haryana High Court Rules and Orders, Volume V, Hon’ble the Chief Justice has been pleased to include the name of the 179 Advocates mentioned as below, on the Roll of Advocates with effect from the date of this notification.
2- The Roll of Advocates is valid for a term of Five Years from the date of this notification or for such term as extended by Hon’ble the Chief Justice. The application for renewal of name on the Roll of Advocates shall be required to be filed along with requisite certificate from the Bar Association/Advocates Association, Punjab and Haryana High Court or from the Registrar General of Punjab and Haryana High Court, as and when required.
3- As per Rule 3-A (i) of Chapter 6, Part-B, Punjab and Haryana High Court Rules and Orders, Volume V, unless the Court grants leave, an Advocate who is not on the Roll of Advocates in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, shall not be allowed to appear, act or plead in the Punjab and Haryana High Court as the case might be unless he /she files appointment alongwith an Advocate who is on such roll of Punjab and Haryana High Court.
4- It is mandatory by the Advocate to mention the Number on Rolls (NoR) as assigned in Column No. 2 of the list below in all petitions/applications/vakalatnama etc. wherever the signature of an Advocate appear.
5- The request for making correction/change in the particulars on Roll of Advocates can be made to the Registrar General of this Court.
6-Name of an Advocate can be removed, either temporarily or permanently, from the Roll of Advocates on the following grounds:-
(a) if he/she ceased to practice;
(b) if he/she is disqualified as an advocate by the Bar Council;
(c) if he/she is found guilty of misconduct of Court or otherwise;
(d) if he/she is convicted of an offence involving moral turpitude or for contempt of Court;
(e) if he/she has migrated from India;
(f) if he/she changes place of practice from Chandigarh, District Mohali, and District Panchkula;
(g) if he/she has expired;
(h) on his/her request;
(i) on any other ground as deemed fit by the Hon’ble Chief Justice or any other competent authority to be appointed by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana for this purpose.
