Question No. 13

The limitation of three months prescribed for making an application under Section 34 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 for setting aside an arbitral award is :

1) Absolute and not extendable.
2) Can be extended invoking the provisions of Section 5 of Limitation Act, 1963.
3) Can be extended for a period not beyond 30 days if the court is satisfied that the applicant was prevented by sufficient causes from making the application within limitation.
4)Can be extended by the court under its inherent powers.
