The Union Budget for Financial Year 2022-23, presented by the Finance Minister on February 01,2022, has given further impetus to modernisation of Defence Services and Defence Security Infrastructure development, including the Border Road Infrastructure and Coastal Security Infrastructure.

Ministry of Heavy Industries notified Scheme on Enhancement of Competitiveness in Indian Capital Goods Sector- Phase-II (2022)

Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) has notified the Scheme on Enhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector- Phase-II for providing assistance to Common Technology Development and Services Infrastructure. The scheme has a financial outlay of Rs. 1207 crores with Budgetary support of Rs.975 crore and Industry Contribution of Rs.232 crore . The scheme was notified on 25th January, 2022.

Registration of Factors (Reserve Bank) Regulations, 2022

NITI Aayog, Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI), and RMI India today released a report, titled ‘Banking on Electric Vehicles in India’, which outlines the importance of priority-sector recognition for retail lending in the electric mobility ecosystem. The report provides considerations and recommendations to inform the inclusion of EVs in the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI’s) priority-sector lending (PSL) guidelines.

GOI ordered blocking of Pakistan funded 35 YouTube channels and 2 websites involved in spreading anti-India fake news under IT Act

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has ordered blocking of 35 YouTube based news channels and 2 websites which were involved in spreading anti-India fake news in a coordinated manner over digital media. The YouTube accounts blocked by the Ministry had a total subscriber base of over 1 crore 20 lakh, and their videos had over 130 crore views. Additionally, two Twitter accounts, two Instagram accounts, and one Facebook account have also been blocked by the Government for being involved in spreading coordinated anti-India disinformation over the internet.

Keeping in view the recent global surge of COVID-19 cases, detection of Omicron variant which has been categorized as a Variant of Concern (VOC), scientific evidence, global practices and the inputs/suggestions of ‘COVID-19 Working Group of National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI)’ as well as of ‘Standing Technical Scientific Committee (STSC)’ of National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization [NTAGI] it has now been decided to further refine the scientific prioritization & coverage of COVID-19 vaccination

Liquidity management is the operating procedure of monetary policy which envisages modulation of liquidity conditions, aimed at anchoring the WACR to the policy repo rate.

Funds Released to Various Wakf Institutions for digitization of Waqf records and GIS Mapping of Waqf properties by Govt of India

This Ministry is implementing two schemes namely i) Qaumi Waqf Board Taraqqiati Scheme (QWBTS) and ii) Shahari Waqf Sampatti Vikas Yojana (SWSVY) through Central Waqf Council (CWC). Under QWBTS, financial assistance is released to State Waqf Boards (SWBs) towards computerization and digitization of Waqf records and GIS Mapping of Waqf properties. Under the scheme the Ministry also supports the SWBs for deployment of manpower viz. Assistant Programmer, Survey Assistant, Accountant and Legal Assistant, setting up of Video Conferencing Facility, maintenance of Centralized Computing Facility (CCF) & Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Solution for better administration of SWBs.

Minority Concentrated Districts under National Commission for Minorities Act 1992

Under Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK), which is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme, the communities notified as minority communities under Section 2 (c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act (NCM), 1992 are taken as Minority Communities. The Central Government under the NCM Act, 1992 has notified six religious minority communities namely Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Muslim, Parsi and Jain.

Guidelines for Play Schools By National Commission for Protection of Child Rights(India)

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has developed a regulatory guideline for private play schools with an objective of bringing inclusiveness and uniformity in all private educational institutions imparting pre-school education and prevents violation of the child rights against children in the age group of 3-6 years.
