Hyderabad District, Sindh in Pakistan[ on the bed of Indus river]. Brahmanabad, situated about eight miles south-east of the railway station of Shahdadpur, and forty-three miles north-east of Hyderabad. Tradition affirms that the city – the capital of a Hindoo kingdom was destroyed by Muslim invaders Muḥammad ibn Qāsim ath-Thaqafī[c. 695 – 715].
