Muwatta Imam Malik by Imam Malik (711–795)
Muwaṭṭa’ means the clear book which smooths the way and is not difficult for the seeker of knowledge to grasp. It is also related that Mālik gave his book this title because he read it to a group of the people of knowledge and they agreed with him about it (wāṭa’a).
