हर हर महादेव। हर हर महादेव। नमः पार्वती पतये, हर हर महादेव॥ माता अन्नपूर्णा की जय। गंगा मइया की जय। इस ऐतिहासिक आयोजन में उपस्थित उत्तर प्रदेश की राज्यपाल श्रीमती आनंदी बेन पटेल जी, उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री कर्मयोगी श्री योगी आदित्यनाथ जी, भारतीय जनता पार्टी के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष, हम सबके मार्गदर्शक श्रीमान जे.पी.नड्डा जी, उपमुख्यमंत्री भाई केशव प्रसाद मौर्या जी, दिनेश शर्मा जी, केंद्र में मंत्री परिषद के मेरे साथी महेंद्र नाथ पांडे जी, उत्तर प्रदेश भारतीय जनता पार्टी के अध्यक्ष स्वतंत्रदेव सिंह जी, यहां के मंत्री श्रीमान नीलकंठ तिवारी जी, देश के हर कोने से आए हुए पूज्य संत गण, और मेरे प्यारे मेरे काशीवासी, और देश-विदेश से इस अवसर के साक्षी बन रहे सभी श्रद्धालु साथीगण! काशी के सभी बंधुओं के साथ, बाबा विश्वनाथ के चरणों में हम शीश नवावत हई। माता अन्नपूर्णा के चरणन क बार बार बंदन करत हई। अभी मैं बाबा के साथ साथ नगर कोतवाल कालभैरव जी के दर्शन करके ही आ रहा हूँ, देशवासियों के लिए उनका आशीर्वाद लेकर आ रहा हूँ। काशी में कुछ भी खास हो, कुछ भी नया हो, तो सबसे पहले उनसे पूछना आवश्यक है। मैं काशी के कोतवाल के चरणों में भी प्रणाम करता हूँ। गंगा तरंग रमणीय जटा-कलापम्, गौरी निरंतर विभूषित वाम-भागम्नारायण प्रिय-मनंग-मदाप-हारम्, वाराणसी पुर-पतिम् भज विश्वनाथम्। हम बाबा विश्वनाथ दरबार से, देश दुनिया के, उन श्रद्धालु-जनन के प्रणाम करत हई, जो अपने अपने स्थान से, इस महायज्ञ के साक्षी बनत हऊअन। हम आप सब काशी वासी लोगन के, प्रणाम करत हई, जिनके सहयोग से, ई शुभ घडी आयल हौ। हृदय गद् गद् हौ। मन आह्लादित हौ। आप सब लोगन के बहुत बहुत बधाई हौ।
साथियों,
हमारे पुराणों में कहा गया है कि जैसे ही कोई काशी में प्रवेश करता है, सारे बंधनों से मुक्त हो जाता है। भगवान विश्वेश्वर का आशीर्वाद, एक अलौकिक ऊर्जा यहाँ आते ही हमारी अंतर-आत्मा को जागृत कर देती है। और आज, आज तो इस चिर चैतन्य काशी की चेतना में एक अलग ही स्पंदन है! आज आदि काशी की अलौकिकता में एक अलग ही आभा है! आज शाश्वत बनारस के संकल्पों में एक अलग ही सामर्थ्य दिख रहा है! हमने शास्त्रों में सुना है, जब भी कोई पुण्य अवसर होता है तो सारे तीर्थ, सारी दैवीय शक्तियाँ बनारस में बाबा के पास उपस्थित हो जाती हैं। कुछ वैसा ही अनुभव आज मुझे बाबा के दरबार में आकर हो रहा है। ऐसा लग रहा है कि, हमारा पूरा चेतन ब्रह्मांड इससे जुड़ा हुआ है। वैसे तो अपनी माया का विस्तार बाबा ही जानें, लेकिन जहां तक हमारी मानवीय दृष्टि जाती है, ‘विश्वनाथ धाम’ के इस पवित्र आयोजन से इस समय पूरा विश्व जुड़ा हुआ है।
साथियों,
आज भगवान शिव का प्रिय दिन, सोमवार है, आज विक्रम संवत् दो हजार अठहत्तर, मार्गशीर्ष शुक्लपक्ष, दशमी तिथि, एक नया इतिहास रच रही है। और हमारा सौभाग्य है कि हम इस तिथि के साक्षी बन रहे हैं। आज विश्वनाथ धाम अकल्पनीय-अनंत ऊर्जा से भरा हुआ है। इसका वैभव विस्तार ले रहा है। इसकी विशेषता आसमान छू रही है। यहां आसपास जो अनेक प्राचीन मंदिर लुप्त हो गए थे, उन्हें भी पुनः स्थापित किया जा चुका है। बाबा अपने भक्तों की सदियों की सेवा से प्रसन्न हुए हैं, इसलिए उन्होंने आज के दिन का हमें आशीर्वाद दिया है। विश्वनाथ धाम का ये पूरा नया परिसर एक भव्य भवन भर नहीं है, ये प्रतीक है, हमारे भारत की सनातन संस्कृति का! ये प्रतीक है, हमारी आध्यात्मिक आत्मा का! ये प्रतीक है, भारत की प्राचीनता का, परम्पराओं का! भारत की ऊर्जा का, गतिशीलता का! आप यहाँ जब आएंगे तो केवल आस्था के ही दर्शन होंगे एैसा नहीं है। आपको यहाँ अपने अतीत के गौरव का अहसास भी होगा। कैसे प्राचीनता और नवीनता एक साथ सजीव हो रही हैं, कैसे पुरातन की प्रेरणाएं भविष्य को दिशा दे रही हैं, इसके साक्षात दर्शन विश्वनाथ धाम परिसर में हम कर रहे हैं।
साथियों,
जो माँ गंगा, उत्तरवाहिनी होकर बाबा के पाँव पखारने काशी आती हैं, वो मां गंगा भी आज बहुत प्रसन्न होंगी। अब जब हम भगवान विश्वनाथ के चरणों में प्रणाम करेंगे, ध्यान लगाएंगे, तो माँ गंगा को स्पर्श करती हुई हवा हमें स्नेह देगी, आशीर्वाद देगी। और जब माँ गंगा उन्मुक्त होंगी, प्रसन्न होंगी, तो बाबा के ध्यान में हम ‘गंग-तरंगों की कल-कल’ का दैवीय अनुभव भी कर सकेंगे। बाबा विश्वनाथ सबके हैं, माँ गंगा सबकी हैं। उनका आशीर्वाद सबके लिए हैं। लेकिन समय और परिस्थितियों के चलते बाबा और माँ गंगा की सेवा की ये सुलभता मुश्किल हो चली थी, यहाँ हर कोई आना चाहता था, लेकिन रास्तों और जगह की कमी हो गई थी। बुजुर्गों के लिए, दिव्यांगों के लिए यहाँ आने में बहुत कठिनाई होती थी। लेकिन अब, ‘विश्वनाथ धाम परियोजना के पूरा होने से यहाँ हर किसी के लिए पहुँचना सुगम हो गया है। हमारे दिव्यांग भाई-बहन, बुजुर्ग माता-पिता सीधे बोट से जेटी तक आएंगे। जेटी से घाट तक आने के लिए भी एस्कलेटर लगाए गए हैं। वहाँ से सीधे मंदिर तक आ सकेंगे। सँकरे रास्तों की वजह से दर्शन के लिए जो घंटों तक का इंतज़ार करना पड़ा था, जो परेशानी होती थी, वो भी अब कम होगी। पहले यहाँ जो मंदिर क्षेत्र केवल तीन हजार वर्ग फीट में था, वो अब करीब करीब 5 लाख वर्ग फीट का हो गया है। अब मंदिर और मंदिर परिसर में 50, 60, 70 हजार श्रद्धालु आ सकते हैं। यानि पहले माँ गंगा का दर्शन-स्नान, और वहाँ से सीधे विश्वनाथ धाम, यही तो है, हर-हर महादेव !
साथियों,
जब मैं बनारस आया था तो एक विश्वास लेकर आया था। विश्वास अपने से ज्यादा बनारस के लोगों पर था, आप पर था। आज हिसाब-किताब का समय नहीं है लेकिन मुझे याद है, तब कुछ ऐसे लोग भी थे जो बनारस के लोगों पर संदेह करते थे। कैसे होगा., होगा ही नहीं., यहाँ तो ऐसे ही चलता है! ये मोदी जी जैसे बहुत आके गये। मुझे आश्चर्य होता था कि बनारस के लिए ऐसी धारणाएँ बना ली गई थीं! ऐसे तर्क दिये जाने लगे थे! ये जड़ता बनारस की नहीं थी! हो भी नहीं सकती थी! थोड़ी बहुत राजनीति थी, थोड़ा बहुत कुछ लोगों का निजी स्वार्थ, इसलिए बनारस पर आरोप लगाए जा रहे थे। लेकिन काशी तो काशी है! काशी तो अविनाशी है। काशी में एक ही सरकार है, जिनके हाथों में डमरू है, उनकी सरकार है। जहां गंगा अपनी धारा बदलकर बहती हों, उस काशी को भला कौन रोक सकता है? काशीखण्ड में भगवान शंकर ने खुद कहा है- “विना मम प्रसादम् वै, कः काशी प्रति-पद्यते”। अर्थात्, बिना मेरी प्रसन्नता के काशी में कौन आ सकता है, कौन इसका सेवन कर सकता है? काशी में महादेव की इच्छा के बिना न कोई आता है, और न यहाँ उनकी इच्छा के बिना कुछ होता है। यहाँ जो कुछ होता है, महादेव की इच्छा से होता है। ये जो कुछ भी हुआ है, महादेव ने ही किया है। ई विश्वनाथ धाम, त बाबा आपन आशीर्वाद से बनईले हवुअन। उनकर इच्छा के बिना, का कोई पत्ता हिल सकेला? कोई कितना बड़ा हव, तो अपने घरै क होइहें। ऊ बूलय्ये तबे कोई आ सकेला, कुछ कर सकेला।
साथियों,
बाबा के साथ अगर किसी और का योगदान है तो वो बाबा के गणों का है। बाबा के गण यानी हमारे सारे काशीवासी, जो खुद महादेव के ही रूप हैं। जब भी बाबा को अपनी शक्ति अनुभव करानी होती है, वो काशीवासियों का माध्यम ही बना देते हैं। फिर काशी करती है और दुनिया देखती है। “इदम् शिवाय, इदम् न मम्”
भाइयों और बहनों,
मैं आज अपने हर उस श्रमिक भाई-बहनों का भी आभार व्यक्त करना चाहता हूं जिसका पसीना इस भव्य परिसर के निर्माण में बहा है। कोरोना के इस विपरीत काल में भी, उन्होंने यहां पर काम रुकने नहीं दिया। मुझे अभी अपने इन श्रमिक साथियों से मिलने का अवसर मिला, उनके आशीर्वाद लेने का सौभाग्य मिला। हमारे कारीगर, हमारे सिविल इंजीनयरिंग से जुड़े लोग, प्रशासन के लोग, वो परिवार जिनके यहां घर हुआ करते थे, मैं सभी का अभिनंदन करता हूं। और इन सबके साथ, मैं यूपी सरकार, हमारे कर्मयोगी मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ जी का भी और उनकी पूरी टीम का भी अभिनंदन करता हूं, जिन्होंने काशी विश्वनाथ धाम परियोजना को पूरा करने के लिए दिन-रात एक कर दिया।
साथियों,
हमारी इस वाराणसी ने युगों को जिया है, इतिहास को बनते बिगड़ते देखा है, कितने ही कालखंड आए, गए! कितनी ही सल्तनतें उठीं और मिट्टी में मिल गईं, फिर भी, बनारस बना हुआ है, बनारस अपना रस बिखेर रहा है। बाबा का ये धाम शाश्वत ही नहीं रहा है, इसके सौन्दर्य ने भी हमेशा संसार को आश्चर्यचकित और आकर्षित किया है। हमारे पुराणों में प्राकृतिक आभा से घिरी काशी के ऐसे ही दिव्य स्वरूप का वर्णन किया गया है। अगर हम ग्रंथों को देखेंगे, शास्त्रों को देखेंगे। इतिहासकारों ने भी वृक्षों, सरोवरों, तालाबों से घिरी काशी के अद्भुत स्वरूप का बखान किया है। लेकिन समय कभी एक जैसा नहीं रहता। आतातायियों ने इस नगरी पर आक्रमण किए, इसे ध्वस्त करने के प्रयास किए! औरंगजेब के अत्याचार, उसके आतंक का इतिहास साक्षी है। जिसने सभ्यता को तलवार के बल पर बदलने की कोशिश की, जिसने संस्कृति को कट्टरता से कुचलने की कोशिश की! लेकिन इस देश की मिट्टी बाकी दुनिया से कुछ अलग है। यहाँ अगर औरंगजेब आता है तो शिवाजी भी उठ खड़े होते हैं! अगर कोई सालार मसूद इधर बढ़ता है तो राजा सुहेलदेव जैसे वीर योद्धा उसे हमारी एकता की ताकत का अहसास करा देते हैं। और अंग्रेजों के दौर में भी, वारेन हेस्टिंग का क्या हाल काशी के लोगों ने किया था, ये तो काशी के लोग समय समय पर बोलते रहतें हैं और काशी की जुबान पर निकलता है। घोड़े पर हौदा और हाथी पर जीनजान लेकर भागल वारेन हेस्टिंग।
साथियों,
आज समय का चक्र देखिए, आतंक के वो पर्याय इतिहास के काले पन्नों तक सिमटकर रह गए हैं! और मेरी काशी आगे बढ़ रही है, अपने गौरव को फिर से नई भव्यता दे रही है।
साथियों,
काशी के बारे में, मैं जितना बोलता हूँ, उतना डूबता जाता हूँ, उतना ही भावुक होता जाता हूँ। काशी शब्दों का विषय नहीं है, काशी संवेदनाओं की सृष्टि है। काशी वो है- जहां जागृति ही जीवन है, काशी वो है- जहां मृत्यु भी मंगल है! काशी वो है- जहां सत्य ही संस्कार है! काशी वो है- जहां प्रेम ही परंपरा है।
भाइयों बहनों,
हमारे शास्त्रों ने भी काशी की महिमा गाते, और गाते हुये आखिर में, आखिर में क्या कहा, ‘नेति-नेति’ ही कहा है। यानी जो कहा, उतना ही नहीं है, उससे भी आगे कितना कुछ है! हमारे शास्त्रों ने कहा है- “शिवम् ज्ञानम् इति ब्रयुः, शिव शब्दार्थ चिंतकाः”। अर्थात् शिव शब्द का चिंतन करने वाले लोग शिव को ही ज्ञान कहते हैं। इसीलिए, ये काशी शिवमयी है, ये काशी ज्ञानमयी है। और इसीलिए ज्ञान, शोध, अनुसंधान, ये काशी और भारत के लिए स्वाभाविक निष्ठा रहे हैं। भगवान शिव ने स्वयं कहा है- “सर्व क्षेत्रेषु भू पृष्ठे, काशी क्षेत्रम् च मे वपु:”। अर्थात्, धरती के सभी क्षेत्रों में काशी साक्षात् मेरा ही शरीर है। इसीलिए, यहाँ का पत्थर, यहां का हर पत्थर शंकर है। इसलिए, हम अपनी काशी को सजीव मानते हैं, और इसी भाव से हमें अपने देश के कण-कण में मातृभाव का बोध होता है। हमारे शास्त्रों का वाक्य है- “दृश्यते सवर्ग सर्वै:, काश्याम् विश्वेश्वरः तथा”॥ यानी, काशी में सर्वत्र, हर जीव में भगवान विश्वेशर के ही दर्शन होते हैं। इसीलिए, काशी जीवत्व को सीधे शिवत्व से जोड़ती है। हमारे ऋषियों ने ये भी कहा है- “विश्वेशं शरणं, यायां, समे बुद्धिं प्रदास्यति”। अर्थात्, भगवान विश्वेशर की शरण में आने पर सम बुद्धि व्याप्त हो जाती है। बनारस वो नगर है जहां से जगद्गुरू शंकराचार्य को श्रीडोम राजा की पवित्रता से प्रेरणा मिली, उन्होंने देश को एकता के सूत्र में बांधने का संकल्प लिया। ये वो जगह है जहां भगवान शंकर की प्रेरणा से गोस्वामी तुलसीदास जी ने रामचरित मानस जैसी अलौकिक रचना की है।
यहीं की धरती सारनाथ में भगवान बुद्ध का बोध संसार के लिए प्रकट हुआ। समाजसुधार के लिए कबीरदास जैसे मनीषी यहाँ प्रकट हुये। समाज को जोड़ने की जरूरत थी तो संत रैदास जी की भक्ति की शक्ति का केंद्र भी ये काशी बनी। ये काशी अहिंसा और तप की प्रतिमूर्ति चार जैन तीर्थंकरों की धरती है। राजा हरिश्चंद्र की सत्यनिष्ठा से लेकर वल्लभाचार्य और रमानन्द जी के ज्ञान तक, चैतन्य महाप्रभु और समर्थगुरु रामदास से लेकर स्वामी विवेकानंद और मदनमोहन मालवीय तक, कितने ही ऋषियों और आचार्यों का संबंध काशी की पवित्र धरती से रहा है। छत्रपति शिवाजी महाराज ने यहां से प्रेरणा पाई। रानीलक्ष्मी बाई से लेकर चंद्रशेखर आज़ाद तक, कितने ही सेनानियों की कर्मभूमि-जन्मभूमि काशी रही है। भारतेन्दु हरिश्चंद्र, जयशंकर प्रसाद, मुंशी प्रेमचंद, पंडित रविशंकर, और बिस्मिल्लाह खान जैसी प्रतिभाएं, इस स्मरण को कहाँ तक लेते जायें, कितना कहते जायें! भंडार भरा पड़ा है। जिस तरह काशी अनंत है वैसे ही काशी का योगदान भी अनंत है। काशी के विकास में इन अनंत पुण्य-आत्माओं की ऊर्जा शामिल है। इस विकास में भारत की अनंत परम्पराओं की विरासत शामिल है। इसीलिए, हर मत-मतांतर के लोग, हर भाषा-वर्ग के लोग यहाँ आते हैं तो यहाँ से अपना जुड़ाव महसूस करते हैं।
साथियों,
काशी हमारे भारत की सांस्कृतिक आध्यात्मिक राजधानी तो है ही, ये भारत की आत्मा का एक जीवंत अवतार भी है। आप देखिए, पूरब और उत्तर को जोड़ती हुई यूपी में बसी ये काशी, यहाँ विश्वनाथ मंदिर को तोड़ा गया तो मंदिर का पुनर्निमाण, माता अहिल्याबाई होल्कर ने करवाया। जिनकी जन्मभूमि महाराष्ट्र थी, जिनकी कर्मभूमि इंदौर-माहेश्वर और अनेक क्षेत्रों में थी। उन माता अहिल्याबाई होल्कर को आज मैं इस अवसर पर नमन करता हूं। दो सौ-ढाई सौ साल पहले उन्होंने काशी के लिए इतना कुछ किया था। तब के बाद से काशी के लिए इतना काम अब हुआ है।
साथियों,
बाबा विश्वनाथ मंदिर की आभा बढ़ाने के लिए पंजाब से महाराजा रणजीत सिंह ने 23 मण सोना चढ़ाया था, इसके शिखर पर सोना मढ़वाया था। पंजाब से पूज्य गुरुनानक देव जी भी काशी आए थे, यहाँ सत्संग किया था। दूसरे सिख गुरुओं का भी काशी से विशेष रिश्ता रहा था। पंजाब के लोगों ने काशी के पुनर्निर्माण के लिए दिल खोलकर दान दिया था। पूरब में बंगाल की रानी भवानी ने बनारस के विकास के लिए अपना सब कुछ अर्पण किया। मैसूर और दूसरे दक्षिण भारतीय राजाओं का भी बनारस के लिए बहुत बड़ा योगदान रहा है। ये एक ऐसा शहर है जहां आपको उत्तर, दक्षिण, नेपाली, लगभग हर तरह की शैली के मंदिर दिख जाएंगे। विश्वनाथ मंदिर इसी आध्यात्मिक चेतना का केंद्र रहा है, और अब ये विश्वनाथ धाम परिसर अपने भव्य रूप में इस चेतना को और ऊर्जा देगा।
साथियों,
दक्षिण भारत के लोगों की काशी के प्रति आस्था, दक्षिण भारत का काशी पर और काशी का दक्षिण पर प्रभाव भी हम सब भली-भांति जानते हैं। एक ग्रंथ में लिखा है- तेनो-पयाथेन कदा-चनात्, वाराणसिम पाप-निवारणन। आवादी वाणी बलिनाह, स्वशिष्यन, विलोक्य लीला-वासरे, वलिप्तान। कन्नड़ भाषा में ये कहा गया है, यानि जब जगद्गुरु माध्वाचार्य जी अपने शिष्यों के साथ चल रहे थे, तो उन्होंने कहा था कि काशी के विश्वनाथ, पाप का निवारण करते हैं। उन्होंने अपने शिष्यों को काशी के वैभव और उसकी महिमा के बारे में भी समझाया।
साथियों,
सदियों पहले की ये भावना निरंतर चली आ रही है। महाकवि सुब्रमण्य भारती, काशी प्रवास ने जिनके जीवन की दिशा बदल दी, उन्होंने एक जगह लिखा है, तमिल में लिखा है- “कासी नगर पुलवर पेसुम उरई दान, कान्जिइल के-पदर्कोर, खरुवि सेवोम” यानि “काशी नगरी के संतकवि का भाषण कांचीपुर में सुनने का साधन बनाएंगे” काशी से निकला हर संदेश ही इतना व्यापक है, कि देश की दिशा बदल देता है। वैसे मैं एक बात और कहूंगा। मेरा पुराना अनुभव है। हमारे घाट पर रहने वाले, नाव चलाने वाले कई बनारसी साथी तो रात में कभी अनुभव किया होगा तमिल, कन्नड़ा, तेलुगू, मलयालम, इतने फर्राटेदार तरीके से बोलते हैं कि लगता है कहीं केरला-तमिलनाडू या कर्नाटक तो नहीं आ गए हम! इतना बढ़िया बोलते हैं!
साथियों,
भारत की हजारों सालों की ऊर्जा, ऐसे ही तो सुरक्षित रही है, संरक्षित रही है। जब अलग-अलग स्थानों के, क्षेत्रों के एक सूत्र से जुड़ते हैं तो भारत ‘एक भारत, श्रेष्ठ भारत’ के रूप में जाग्रत होता है। इसीलिए, हमें ‘सौराष्ट्रे सोमनाथम्’ से लेकर ‘अयोध्या मथुरा माया, काशी कांची अवंतिका’ का हर दिन स्मरण करना सिखाया जाता है। हमारे यहाँ तो द्वादश ज्योतिर्लिंगों के स्मरण का ही फल बताया गया है- “तस्य तस्य फल प्राप्तिः, भविष्यति न संशयः”॥ यानी, सोमनाथ से लेकर विश्वनाथ तक द्वादश ज्योतिर्लिंगों का स्मरण करने से हर संकल्प सिद्ध हो जाता है, इसमें कोई संशय ही नहीं है। ये संशय इसलिए नहीं है क्योंकि इस स्मरण के बहाने पूरे भारत का भाव एकजुट हो जाता है। और जब भारत का भाव आ जाए, तो संशय कहाँ रह जाता है, असंभव क्या बचता है?

ये भी सिर्फ संयोग नहीं है कि जब भी काशी ने करवट ली है, कुछ नया किया है, देश का भाग्य बदला है। बीते सात वर्षों से काशी में चल रहा विकास का महायज्ञ, आज एक नई ऊर्जा को प्राप्त कर रहा है। काशी विश्वनाथ धाम का लोकार्पण, भारत को एक निर्णायक दिशा देगा, एक उज्जवल भविष्य की तरफ ले जाएगा। ये परिसर, साक्षी है हमारे सामर्थ्य का, हमारे कर्तव्य का। अगर सोच लिया जाए, ठान लिया जाए, तो असंभव कुछ भी नहीं है। हर भारतवासी की भुजाओं में वो बल है, जो अकल्पनीय को साकार कर देता है। हम तप जानते हैं, तपस्या जानते हैं, देश के लिए दिन रात खपना जानते हैं। चुनौती कितनी ही बड़ी क्यों ना हो, हम भारतीय मिलकर उसे परास्त कर सकते हैं। विनाश करने वालों की शक्ति, कभी भारत की शक्ति और भारत की भक्ति से बड़ी नहीं हो सकती। याद रखिए, जैसी दृष्टि से हम खुद को देखेंगे, वैसी ही दृष्टि से विश्व भी हमें देखेगा। मुझे खुशी है कि सदियों की गुलामी ने हम पर जो प्रभाव डाला था, जिस हीन भावना से भारत को भर दिया गया था, अब आज का भारत उससे बाहर निकल रहा है। आज का भारत सिर्फ सोमनाथ मंदिर का सुंदरीकरण ही नहीं करता बल्कि समंदर में हजारों किलोमीटर ऑप्टिकल फाइबर भी बिछा रहा है। आज का भारत सिर्फ बाबा केदारनाथ मंदिर का जीर्णोद्धार ही नहीं कर रहा बल्कि अपने दम-खम पर अंतरिक्ष में भारतीयों को भेजेने की तैयारी में जुटा है। आज का भारत सिर्फ अयोध्या में प्रभु श्रीराम का मंदिर ही नहीं बना रहा बल्कि देश के हर जिले में मेडिकल कॉलेज भी खोल रहा है। आज का भारत, सिर्फ बाबा विश्वनाथ धाम को भव्य रूप ही नहीं दे रहा बल्कि गरीब के लिए करोड़ों पक्के घर भी बना रहा है।

नए भारत में अपनी संस्कृति का गर्व भी है और अपने सामर्थ्य पर उतना ही भरोसा भी है। नए भारत में विरासत भी है और विकास भी है। आप देखिए, अयोध्या से जनकपुर आना-जाना आसान बनाने के लिए राम-जानकी मार्ग का निर्माण हो रहा है। आज भगवान राम से जुड़े स्थानों को रामायण सर्किट से जोड़ा जा रहा है और साथ ही रामायण ट्रेन चलाई जा रही है। बुद्ध सर्किट पर काम हो रहा है तो साथ ही कुशीनगर में इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट भी बनाया गया है। करतारपुर साहिब कॉरिडोर का निर्माण किया गया है तो वहीं हेमकुंड साहिब जी के दर्शन आसान बनाने के लिए रोप-वे बनाने की भी तैयारी है। उत्तराखंड में चारधाम सड़क महापरियोजना पर भी तेजी से काम जारी है। भगवान विठ्ठल के करोड़ों भक्तों के आशीर्वाद से श्रीसंत ज्ञानेश्वर महाराज पालखी मार्ग और संत तुकाराम महाराज पालखी मार्ग का भी काम अभी कुछ हफ्ते पहले ही शुरू हो चुका है।

केरला में गुरुवायूर मंदिर हो या फिर तमिलनाडु में कांचीपुरम-वेलन्कानी, तेलंगाना का जोगूलांबा देवी मंदिर हो या फिर बंगाल का बेलूर मठ, गुजरात में द्वारका जी हों या फिर अरुणाचल प्रदेश का परशुराम कुंड, देश के अलग-अलग राज्यों में हमारी आस्था और संस्कृति से जुड़े ऐसे अनेकों पवित्र स्थानों पर पूरे भक्ति भाव से काम किया गया है, काम चल रहा है।
भाइयों और बहनों,
आज का भारत अपनी खोई हुई विरासत को फिर से संजो रहा है। यहां काशी में तो माता अन्नपूर्णा खुद विराजती हैं। मुझे खुशी है कि काशी से चुराई गई मां अन्नपूर्णा की प्रतिमा, एक शताब्दी के इंतजार के बाद, सौ साल के बाद अब फिर से काशी में स्थापित की जा चुकी है। माता अन्नपूर्णा की कृपा से कोरोना के कठिन समय में देश ने अपने अन्न भंडार खोल दिए, कोई गरीब भूखा ना सोए इसका ध्यान रखा, मुफ्त राशन का इंतजाम किया।

जब भी हम भगवान के दर्शन करते हैं, मंदिर आते हैं, कई बार ईश्वर से कुछ मांगते हैं, कुछ संकल्प लेकर भी जाते हैं। मेरे लिए तो जनता जनार्दन ईश्वर का रूप है। मेरे लिए हर भारतवासी, ईश्वर का ही अंश है। जैसे ये सब लोग भगवान के पास जाकर के मांगते हैं, जब मैं आपको भगवान मानता हूं, जनता जर्नादन को ईश्वर का रूप मानता हूं तो मैं आज आपसे कुछ मांगना चाहता हूं, मैं आपसे कुछ मांगता हूं। मैं आपसे अपने लिए नहीं, हमारे देश के लिए तीन संकल्प चाहता हूं, भूल मत जाना, तीन संकल्प चाहता हूं और बाबा की पवित्र धरती से मांग रहा हूं- पहला स्वच्छता, दूसरा सृजन और तीसरा आत्मनिर्भर भारत के लिए निरंतर प्रयास। स्वच्छता, जीवनशैली होती है, स्वच्छता अनुशासन होती है। ये अपने साथ कर्तव्यों की एक बहुत बड़ी श्रृंखला लेकर आती है। भारत चाहे जितना ही विकास करे, स्वच्छ नहीं रहेगा, तो हमारे लिए आगे बढ़ पाना मुश्किल होगा। इस दिशा में हमने बहुत कुछ किया है, लेकिन हमें अपने प्रयासों को और बढ़ाने होंगे। कर्तव्य की भावना से भरा आपका एक छोटा सा प्रयास, देश की बहुत मदद करेगा। यहां बनारस में भी, शहर में, घाटों पर, स्वच्छता को हमें एक नए स्तर पर लेकर जाना है। गंगा जी की स्वच्छता के लिए उत्तराखंड से लेकर बंगाल तक कितने ही प्रयास चल रहे हैं। नमामि गंगे अभियान की सफलता बनी रहे, इसके लिए हमें सजग होकर काम करते रहना होगा।

गुलामी के लंबे कालखंड ने हम भारतीयों का आत्मविश्वास ऐसा तोड़ा कि हम अपने ही सृजन पर विश्वास खो बैठे। आज हजारों वर्ष पुरानी इस काशी से, मैं हर देशवासी का आह्वान करता हूं- पूरे आत्मविश्वास से सृजन करिए, Innovate करिए, Innovative तरीके से करिए। जब भारत का युवा, कोरोना के इस मुश्किल काल में सैकड़ों स्टार्ट अप बना सकता है, इतनी चुनौतियों के बीच, 40 से ज्यादा यूनिकॉर्न बना सकता है, वो भी ये दिखाता है कि कुछ भी कर सकता है। आप सोचिए, एक यूनिकॉर्न यानि स्टार्ट-अप करीब- करीब सात-सात हजार करोड़ रुपए से भी ज्यादा का है और पिछले एक डेढ़ साल में बना है, इतने कम समय में। ये अभूतपूर्व है। हर भारतवासी, जहां भी है, जिस भी क्षेत्र में है, देश के लिए कुछ नया करने का का प्रयास करेगा, तभी नए मार्ग मिलेंगे, नए मार्ग बनेंगे और हर नई मंजिल पाकर रहेंगे।

तीसरा एक संकल्प जो आज हमें लेना है, वो है आत्मनिर्भर भारत के लिए अपने प्रयास बढ़ाने का। ये आजादी का अमृतकाल है। हम आजादी के 75वें साल में हैं। जब भारत सौ साल की आजादी का समारोह बनाएगा, तब का भारत कैसा होगा, इसके लिए हमें अभी से काम करना होगा। और इसके लिए जरूरी है हमारा आत्मनिर्भर होना। जब हम देश में बनी चीजों पर गर्व करेंगे, जब हम लोकल के लिए वोकल होंगे, जब हम ऐसी चीजों को खरीदेंगे जिसे बनाने में किसी भारतीय का पसीना बहा हो, तो इस अभियान को मदद करेंगे। अमृतकाल में भारत 130 करोड़ देशवासियों के प्रयासों से आगे बढ़ रहा है। महादेव की कृपा से, हर भारतवासी के प्रयास से हम, आत्मनिर्भर भारत का सपना सच होता देंखेंगे। इसी विश्वास के साथ, मैं बाबा विश्वनाथ के, माता अन्नपूर्णा के, काशी-कोतवाल के, और सभी देवी देवताओं के चरणों में एक बार फिर प्रणाम करता हूँ। इतनी बड़ी तादाद में देश के अलग-अलग कोने से पूज्य संत-महात्मा पधारे हैं, ये हमारे लिए, मुझ जैसे सामान्य नागरिक के लिए, ये सौभाग्य के पल हैं। मैं सभी संतों का, सभी पूज्य महात्माओं का सर झुका करके हृदय से अभिनंदन करता हूं, प्रणाम करता हूं। मैं आज सभी काशीवासियों को, देशवासियों को फिर से बधाई देता हूं, बहुत-बहुत शुभकामनाएं देता हूं। हर हर महादेव।

According to the Puranas, one becomes free from all bondage the moment he enters Kashi. With the blessings of Lord Vishweshwara, a supernatural energy awakens our inner-soul as soon as we come here. And today, there is an altogether different vibration in the consciousness of this eternal Kashi! Today there is a different aura in the transcendentalismof Adi Kashi! Today a distinct power is visible in the determination of eternal Banaras! We have heard in the scriptures that all the pilgrimages, all the divine powers appear before Baba in Banaras whenever there is a sacrosanct occasion. Today I am having a similar experience by visiting Baba’s court. It seems that our entire conscious universe is connected to it. Although only Baba knows the extent of his ‘Maya’, but as far as our vision goes, the entire world is connected with this holy event of ‘Vishwanath Dham.

Today, i.e., Monday is the favorite day of Lord Shiva. Today Vikram Samvat 2078, Margashirsha Shukla Paksha, Dashami Tithi, is creating a new history. And we are fortunate that we are witnessing this time. Today Vishwanath Dham is filled with unimaginable and infinite energy. Its splendor is expanding. Its significance is touching the skies. Many ancient temples which became extinct here have also been re-established. Baba has been pleased with the service of his devotees for centuries, and therefore, he has blessed us with this day. This new complex of Vishwanath Dham is not just a grand building, but it is a symbol of the Sanatan culture of our India! It is a symbol of our spiritual soul! This is a symbol of India’s antiquity, traditions, energy and dynamism! When you come here you will not only come across with faith, but you will also feel the glory of our past here. At the Vishwanath Dham complex, we can see a glimpse of how antiquity and novelty are coming alive together, how the inspirations of the ancient are giving direction to the future.

Mother Ganga, which comes to Kashi after being northbound to wash Baba’s feet, will also be very happy today. When we bow down and meditate at the feet of Lord Vishwanath, the breeze touching Mother Ganga will give us affection and blessings. And when Mother Ganga will be happy, we will also be able to have the divine experience of the waves of Ganga while meditating Baba. Baba Vishwanath belongs to everyone, Mother Ganga belongs to everyone. Their blessings are for all. But due to time constraint and circumstances, this access to service of Baba and Mother Ganga had become difficult.Everyone wanted to come here, but there were no proper roads and insufficient space. It was very difficult for the elderly and the Divyangs to come here. But now with the completion of the Viswanath Dham project, it has become easier for everyone to reach here. Our Divyang brothers and sisters and elderly parents will be able to come straight to the jetty from the boat. Escalators have also been installed to reach the jetty from the ghats. From there people will be able to come directly to the temple. Earlier, the narrow roads led to the long hours of waiting, which was annoying. Now the long wait will be reduced. The temple complex which was spread over only 3,000 square feet earlieris now five lakh square feet. Now 50,000-70,000 devotees can visit the temple and its premises. One can now take a bath in the Mother Ganga and from there go directly to Vishwanath Dham! Har Har Mahadev!

I came with a belief to Banaras. I had more faith in the people of Banaras than me. Today is not the time to make a judgment but I remember some people used to doubt the people of Banaras. How will this corridor happen? It will not happen! Many people like Modi have come and gone. I would wonder such assumptions had been made for Banaras! Such arguments were being made! Banaras did not have this inertia and it couldn’t be! There was politics to an extent and there were vested interests. Therefore, allegations were being made against Banaras. But Kashi is Kashi! Kashi is imperishable. There is only one government in Kashi, and there is a ‘damru’ in his hands. Who can stop Kashi where Ganga flows by changing its current? Lord Shankar himself has said in Kashikhand – “विना मम प्रसादम् वै, कः काशी प्रति-पद्यते” i.e., No one comes to Kashi and nothing happens without Mahadev’s grace. Whatever happens here happens with the will of Mahadev. Whatever happened, Mahadev has done it. This Vishwanath Dham has come up because of Baba’s blessings. Can any leaf move without His wish? No matter how influential a person is, he can come here only if He wishes.

If anyone else has a contribution other than Baba, then it is the followers of Baba. The residents of Kashi themselves are the form of Mahadev. Whenever Baba has to demonstrate His power, He makes Kashi’s people a medium. Then Kashi does and the world watches. “इदम् शिवाय, इदम् न मम्”

Today, I would also like to express my gratitude to all our labor brothers and sisters whose sweat has been shed in the construction of this grand complex. Even in the adverse time during Corona, they did not let the work stop here. I just got the opportunity to meet these labor colleagues and had the privilege of taking their blessings. I congratulate all our artisans, people associated with our civil engineering and administration and the families who used to have their homes here. I also congratulate the UP government, our Karmayogi Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ji and his entire team, who worked day and night to complete the Kashi Vishwanath Dham project.

Our Varanasi has lived through the ages, has seen history being created and destroyed. Many eras have come and gone! There was the ascent and downfall of so many sultanates, but Banaras continues to stand tall, spreading its splendor. This abode of Baba has not only been eternal, but its beauty has always surprised and attracted the world. Our Puranas also describe such divine form of Kashi surrounded by a natural aura. Historians have also described the wonderful nature of Kashi surrounded by trees, lakes and ponds. But time never stays the same. The invaders attacked this city, tried to destroy it! History is witness to Aurangzeb’s atrocities and his terror, who tried to change civilization with the sword and crush the culture with fanaticism! But the soil of this country is different from the rest of the world. If an Aurangzeb comes here, a Shivaji also rises! If any Salar Masud comes, then brave warriors like King Suheldev make him taste the might of our unity. And even during the British era, the people of Kashi know what happened to Warren Hastings, how he escaped.

The more I talk about Kashi, the more I become emotional. Kashi is not a matter of words; Kashi is the creation of sensations. Kashi is where awakening is life; Kashi is where death is also bliss! Kashi is where truth is the sacrament! Kashi is where love is the tradition.
Brothers and sisters,
Our scriptures have also said ‘नेति-नेति’ (neither this nor that) in the end while praising the glory of Kashi. That is, what has been said is not that much, there is so much more than that! Our scriptures have said – “शिवम् ज्ञानम् इति ब्रयुः, शिव शब्दार्थ चिंतकाः” i.e., those who meditate Shiva consider Him knowledge. Therefore, this Kashi is all-encompassing of Shiva and knowledge. Therefore, knowledge, research and quest have been natural to Kashi and India. Lord Shiva himself has said – “सर्व क्षेत्रेषु भू पृष्ठे, काशी क्षेत्रम् च मे वपु:” i.e., of all the earth, Kashi is my body. Therefore, every particle here is Shankar. Therefore, we consider our Kashi to be alive and we get a sense of motherhood in every particle of our country. It is written in our scriptures: “दृश्यते सवर्ग सर्वै:, काश्याम् विश्वेश्वरः तथा” i.e., there is a vision of Lord Vishweshwar in every living being, everywhere in Kashi. Therefore, Kashi directly links living beings with Shiva. Our sages have also said this “विश्वेशं शरणं, यायां, समे बुद्धिं प्रदास्यति” i.e., intelligence pervades upon taking refuge under Lord Vishwesha. Banaras is the city from where Jagadguru Shankaracharya got inspiration from the virtue of Sridom Raja and he resolved to unite the country. This is the place from where Goswami Tulsidas ji drew inspiration from Lord Shankar and created Ramcharit Manas.
The realization of Lord Buddha was revealed to the world in Sarnath. Sage Kabir Das was born here for reforming society. If there was a need to unite the society, then Kashi became the center of the power of devotion of Sant Raidas ji. Kashi is the land of four Jain Tirthankaras, the epitome of non-violence and austerity. So many sages and Acharyas, including King Harishchandra, Vallabhacharya, Ramanand ji, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Samarthguru Ramdas, Swami Vivekananda and Madan Mohan Malaviya are related to the holy land of Kashi. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj got inspiration from here. Kashi has been the birthplace of many fighters, including Rani Lakshmibai and Chandra Shekhar Azad. There is a treasure house of talents like Bhartendu Harishchandra, Jaishankar Prasad, Munshi Premchand, Pandit Ravi Shankar and Bismillah Khan. Just as Kashi is infinite, Kashi’s contribution is also infinite. The development of Kashi involves the energy of these infinite virtuoussouls. This development includes the legacy of India’s infinite traditions. Therefore, people of every creed, language and class come here and feel connected with here.

Kashi is not only the cultural spiritual capital of our India; it is also a living embodiment of the soul of India. The Vishwanath Temple in Kashi, which connects East and North, was demolished, but it was rebuilt by Mata Ahilyabai Holkar, whose birthplace was Maharashtra and whose ‘karmabhoomi’ was in Indore-Maheshwar and many other areas. Today, I bow to Mata Ahilyabai Holkar on this occasion. She had done so much for Kashi about 200-250 years ago. Since then, so much has been done for Kashi now.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh from Punjab had offered about 23 mann of gold for the dome to enhance the aura of Baba Vishwanath temple. Revered Guru Nanak Dev Ji from Punjab also came to Kashi and organized spiritual meet here. Other Sikh gurus also had a special relationship with Kashi. The people of Punjab had donated generously for the reconstruction of Kashi. In the east, Queen Bhavani of Bengal devoted everything for the development of Banaras. Kings of Mysore and other South Indian provinces have also contributed greatly to Banaras. This is a city where you will find temples which have imprints of the North, South and Nepal. Vishwanath Temple has been the center of this spiritual consciousness, and now this Vishwanath Dham complex in its grand form will give more energy to this consciousness.

We all know very well the faith of the people of South India on Kashi, the influence of South India on Kashi and vice versa. In one of the Kannada language texts, it is written तेनो-पयाथेन कदा-चनात्, वाराणसिम पाप-निवारणन। आवादी वाणी बलिनाह, स्वशिष्यन, विलोक्य लीला-वासरे, वलिप्तान i.e., when Jagadguru Madhvacharya was walking with his disciples, he remarked that Vishwanath of Kashi removes sins. He also explained about the splendor and glory of Kashi to his disciples.

This sentiment of centuries ago still continues. Mahakavi Subramanya Bharathi, whose stay in Kashi changed the course of his life, has written in Tamil –”कासी नगर पुलवर पेसुम उरई दान, कान्जिइल के-पदर्कोर, खरुवि सेवोम” i.e., I will make the speeches of saints and poets of Kashi available in Kanchipur. Every message emanating from Kashi is so comprehensive that it changes the direction of the country. I would like to say one more thing. I have an old experience. Many Banarasi fellows who live on ghats and boatmen speak fluent Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam that it seems that we are in Kerala, Tamil Nadu or Karnataka!

India’s energy for thousands of years has been preserved like this. When different places, regions are united in one thread, India awakens as ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’. That is why, we are taught to remember ‘Saurashtra Somnatham’, ‘Ayodhya Mathura Mayaand Kashi Kanchi Avantika’ every day. By remembering only the twelve Jyotirlingas, it leads to “तस्य तस्य फल प्राप्तिः, भविष्यति न संशयः” i.e., by remembering the twelve Jyotirlingas from Somnath to Vishwanath leads to realization of every resolve. There is no doubt about it. It is so because the spirit of the entire India gets united by remembering them. And when there is the spirit of India, where is the question of doubt?

It is also not a mere coincidence that whenever Kashi has taken a turn, has done something new, the fate of the country has changed. The Mahayagya of development going on in Kashi for the last seven years is getting a new energy. The inauguration of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham will give a decisive direction to India and will lead to a brighter future. This complex is a witness of our capabilities and our duties. If there is determination to do something then nothing is impossible. There is that force in the arms of every Indianwhich makes the unimaginable come true. We know how to expend for the country. No matter how big the challenge, we Indians can defeat it together. The power of the destroyers can never be greater than the power of India and the devotion of India. Remember, the world will see us in the same way as we see ourselves.I am glad that India of today is coming out of the inferiority complex due to centuries of slavery. Today’s India not only beautifies the Somnath temple, but is also laying thousands of kilometers of optical fiber in the sea. Today’s India is not only renovating the Baba Kedarnath temple, but is preparing to send Indians to space on its own strength. Today’s India is not only building a temple of Lord Shri Rama in Ayodhya but is also opening medical colleges in every district of the country. Today’s India is not only giving grand look to Baba Vishwanath Dham but is also building crores of pucca houses for the poor.

The new India is also proud of its culture and equally confident in its ability. New India has a heritage as well as development. Ram-Janaki road is being constructed to make it easier to travel from Ayodhya to Janakpur. Today the places associated with Lord Rama are being connected to the Ramayana Circuit and also the Ramayana train is being run. Work for the Buddha Circuit is on and an International Airport has also been built at Kushinagar. While the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor has been constructed, preparations are also underway to build a ropeway to make it easier to visit Hemkund Sahib. Work is also going on at a fast pace on the Chardham road project in Uttarakhand. Today’s India is reviving its lost heritage. Mata Annapurna herself resides in Kashi. I am happy that the statue of Mother Annapurna, which was stolen from Kashi, has now been re-established here after 100 years of wait. By the grace of Mother Annapurna, the country opened its granaries in the difficult times of Corona, arranged for free ration to ensure that no poor should sleep hungry.

Whenever we visit a temple, we ask God for something and also go back with some resolutions. For me,public is the form of God. For me, every Indian is a part of God. Like people go to God and ask for something, I consider you as God, I consider people as God, andtherefore, today I want to ask something from you. I want three resolutions from you, not for myself, but for our country. I am asking this from Baba’s holy land — first ‘Swachhta’ (cleanliness), second ‘Srijan’ (creation) and third continuous efforts for ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India). Cleanliness is a lifestyle, cleanliness is discipline. It brings with it a vast array of duties. No matter how much India develops, it will be difficult for us to move forward if India will not remain clean. We have done a lot in this direction, but we have to step up our efforts. Your small effort, filled with a sense of duty, will help the country a lot. Here in Banaras too, we have to take cleanliness to a new level in the city as well as at the ghats. Many efforts are going on from Uttarakhand to Bengal for the cleanliness of Ganga ji. For the success of Namami Gange campaign, we have to keep working consciously.

The long period of slavery shattered the confidence of Indians in such a way that we lost faith in our own creation. Today, from this thousand-year-old Kashi, I call upon every countryman — create with full confidence and innovate. When the youth of India can create hundreds of start-ups in this difficult time of Corona, can create more than 40 unicornsin the midst of so many challenges, it shows that they can do anything. One unicorn i.e. a start-up is about more than about 7,000 crore rupees and all these unicorns have been created in the last one-and-a-half years only. This is unprecedented. If every Indian, in whatever field he is, will try to do something new for the country, only then new ways will emerge and every new destination will be achieved.

The third resolution that we have to take today is to step up our efforts for a self-reliant India. This is the virtuous period of freedom. We are in the 75th year of independence. We will have to work from now on for what India will be like when India celebrates 100 years of independence. And for this, it is necessary for us to be self-reliant. We can be helpful in this campaign when we will be proud of the things made in the country, when we will be vocal for the local and when we will buy things which an Indian sweats to make. India is progressing ahead with the efforts of 130 crore countrymen in this virtuous period. With the grace of Mahadev, with the efforts of every Indian, we will see the dream of Aatmanirbhar Bharat come true. With this belief, I bow once again at the feet of Baba Vishwanath, Mata Annapurna, Kashi-Kotwal and all the deities. It is a fortunate moment for a common citizen like me that revered saintshave come from different parts of the country in such large numbers. I bow my head to all the saints and offer my heartfelt greetings to them. I once again congratulate and convey my best wishes to all the people of Kashi and the countrymen. Har Har Mahadev!
