Rishis will Reinstitute the Sanatan Dharma if Diluted (SB 8/14/4)

At the end of the four Yugas, when, the knowledge of Vedas are diluted, the Seers, by their asceticism visualise them, from which the Eternal Dharma ensues.

Sanatan DharmaSanatana Dharma Eternal principle. The word used in the Veda to give a sense of eternity, sruti (เคถเฅเคฐเฅเคคเคฟเคƒ), is identified as the eternal principle in the Atharva Veda. The follower of Sruti is called Sanatan Dharmin. Westerners identified Sanatan Dharmins as Hindu. Sruti took the form of the entire universe. Sruti is called Brahma. He who can conceive the Brahma is called Brahman.ย

Smriti is for understanding and regulating public administration and commerce. Artha Sastram is the part of Smriti Prasthana. Smriti tells the competence of Vidhi Vakya, Sruti about 'Vidhata' or Satyam, or beyond, the Ritam.ย  six Dharshan, Ayurveda, etc are part of Smriti Prasthana. At the end of every four yugas, the great Rishis, upon seeing that the eternal occupational duties of mankind have been misused, reestablish the principles of Sanatan Dharma.

In this verse, the words dharmaแธฅ and sanฤtanaแธฅ are very important. Sanฤtana means โ€œeternal,โ€ and dharma means โ€œoccupational duties.โ€ From Satya-yuga to Kali-yuga, the principles of Dharma and occupational duty gradually deteriorate. In Satya-yuga, the religious principles are observed in full, without deviation. In Tretฤ-yuga, however, these principles are somewhat neglected, and only three fourths of the religious duties continue. In Dvฤpara-yuga only half of the Dharmic principles continue, and in Kali-yuga only one fourth of the Dharmic principles, which gradually disappear. Indeed, in this Kali-yuga we have passed through only five thousand years, yet the decline of sanฤtana-dharma is very prominent. Therefore, following in the footsteps of Srฤซ Chaitanya MahaprabhuKrishna Chaitanya Chaitanya used to worship a 'Govardhan' Saligram Sila (1486-1533). Later he donated it to Raghunath Das. Chaitanya first came to Puri in 1510 and met with Ramananda. In 1515 he went to Vrindavana. From 1519, Chaitanya stopped chanting Mahamantra and expressed his Divya Vaba (Raganuga Bhakti). King Prataprudra in consultation with Ramananda started to call him 'Prabhu'. Chaitanya died on Akshye Tritiya 27/04/1533 Sunday. Ramananda entombed his dead body in Kuheli Baikuntha.
