Danish National Whistleblower Scheme

Denmark
The National Whistleblower Scheme allows individuals to report certain workplace-related matters, such as breaches of specific EU laws, serious offenses, harassment, and sexual harassment. It does not cover matters encountered as a citizen in a municipality. Contact the scheme for guidance on reportable matters and eligibility. Reporting can be done by telephone, in writing, or in person, with the option to remain anonymous. For written reports, a special portal or specific email address is provided. Prior arrangement is necessary for in-person reports, including the option for covert meetings. The reporting portal allows for continued communication while remaining anonymous.

If you wish to make a written report, you can use the special reporting portal or the specific email address created for the National Whistleblower Scheme.

If you wish to report information in person, we ask that you contact us in advance โ€” in writing or by telephone โ€“ so that we can agree on the circumstances of the meeting, including that it may be held in covert circumstances if you wish.

You can report anonymously. If you want to be anonymous, we advise that you use the reporting portal as it allows the external whistleblower staff to continue communicating with you even if you want to remain anonymous. You can find out more about the reporting portal via the link above.

Note:

Youโ€™re a whistleblower if youโ€™re a worker and you report certain types of wrongdoing. This will usually be something youโ€™ve seen at work – though not always.

The wrongdoing you disclose must be in the public interest. This means it must affect others, for example the general public.

Personal grievances (for example bullying, harassment, discrimination) are not covered by whistleblowing law, unless your particular case is in the public interest.
