New Appointments Include U.S. Attorneys, Defense and Labor Officials, and Development Bank Directors

Washington, D.C. โ President Donald J. Trump, continuing his second-term staffing efforts, formally sent a comprehensive list of nominations to the United States Senate on July 1, 2025. The nominees include a wide array of individuals selected for critical roles across the federal government, spanning justice, defense, development banking, and social services.
Among the prominent nominations is Ademola Adewale-Sadik of New York, chosen to serve as the United States Director of the African Development Bank for a five-year term, and Robert Sweeney of Texas, nominated as U.S. Director of the Asian Development Bank with ambassadorial rank.
The President also nominated several candidates for U.S. Attorney positions across the country, including:
- Braden Boucek, Middle District of Tennessee
- Arch Capito, Southern District of West Virginia
- David Courcelle, Eastern District of Louisiana
- David Dunavant, Western District of Tennessee
- Dominick Gerace II, Southern District of Ohio
- Christopher Gilbert, Western District of Virginia
- Alina Habba, District of New Jersey
- Matthew Harvey, Northern District of West Virginia
- James Kruger, Southern District of Mississippi
- Scott Leary, Northern District of Mississippi
- Adam Mildred, Northern District of Indiana
- Bryan Stirling, District of South Carolina
- David Toepfer, Northern District of Ohio
- Thomas Wheeler II, Southern District of Indiana
In defense-related appointments, James Caggy of New York has been nominated to the newly established position of Assistant Secretary of Defense, while James Mazol of Virginia has been tapped as Deputy Under Secretary of Defense. Additionally, Frank Weiland of D.C. has been nominated to serve as Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs.
On the domestic policy front, Ryan Cote of Michigan is nominated as Assistant Secretary of Veterans Affairs (Information and Technology), while Rosario Palmieri of Virginia is selected as Assistant Secretary of Labor. Arjun Mody of New Jersey is nominated to be Deputy Commissioner of Social Security through January 2031.
The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) also saw several new nominations for its Board of Directors:
- Lee Beaman (term ending May 18, 2030)
- Mitch Graves (term ending May 18, 2029)
- Jeff Hagood (term ending May 18, 2029)
- Randall Jones (term ending May 18, 2028)
Each nominee will undergo Senate confirmation hearings in the coming weeks. The appointments reflect President Trumpโs continued efforts to shape the federal administrative framework with individuals aligned with his second-term policy agenda.
