British Medical Hypnotherapy Examination Board
Clinical Hypnotherapy means using hypnosis to treat a variety of medical and psychological problems. It is estimated that 85% of people will readily respond to clinical hypnotherapy. It may even succeed where other, more conventional methods of treatment have not produced the desired results. All Associate members of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis are required to pass a theoretical and practical Diploma exam in hypnosis set by the British Medical Hypnotherapy Examination Board (BMHEB). The BMHEB is made up of five leading psychiatrists.
Exam Syllabus
Each approved Training Organisation may adopt the BMHEB syllabus as part of their own course structure. The Board does not stipulate specific teaching methods, however the course must include classroom teaching with practical demonstration of skills. Correspondence courses will therefore be ineligible to put their students forward for examination.
It is mandatory for Associate members of the BSCH to sit and pass the Diploma examination, as set by the BMHEB. Topics marked with are only examined for the Post Graduate Diploma.
