India-Afghanistan Relations: Key Outcomes of High-Level Talks

Kabul, 6th November 2024: In a pivotal meeting on November 6, 2024, India's Special Representative for Afghanistan, J.P. Singh, and IEA Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi discussed enhancing bilateral ties. They focused on improving political and economic relations, emphasizing people-to-people connectivity. India and Afghanistan Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties in High-Level Meeting Between Special Representative J.P. Singh and IEA Foreign Minister Muttaqi

Kabul, 6th November 2024 โ€” In a significant diplomatic engagement, India’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Mr. J.P. Singh, met with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi. The high-level meeting focused on enhancing political and economic relations between Afghanistan and India, emphasizing the need to facilitate people-to-people connectivity between the two neighboring countries.

Key Discussions on Strengthening Afghan-Indian Relations

During the talks, both sides exchanged views on expanding bilateral cooperation. Foreign Minister Muttaqi expressed optimism about the future of Afghan-Indian relations, highlighting the importance of easing visa procedures for Afghan nationals, especially businessmen. He emphasized that streamlined visa processes could significantly boost trade and economic collaboration between India and Afghanistan.
