Akhand Bharat- Greater India

  • The Concept of Akhand Bharat was mentioned in the Arthashastra of Chanakya Koutilya [300-400 BCE]
  • Britishers divided unified Bharat [Mourya Empire] into India, Pakistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Burma based on religious and regional fault line.
  • In 1965, Jansangh passed a resolution that “Akhand Bharat will be a reality, unifying India and Pakistan.
  • Modi [Now PM] in a interview in 2012 said: “ Akhanda Bharat does not mean we wage war on any country … without war, through popular consent, it can happen … We call this Sanskritik Bharat (Cultural Bharat).”
  • In 2017 around 150 Hindu organisation met in Goa to discuss plans for a Hindu Rashtra by 2023.
  • A new Concept  has emerged  to create a Bharat Mahasangh or Mahabharat in 2014 CE
